Sheila Stimson had a career day on Wednesday when she took down the Women's Event at the PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Las Vegas for more than just money.
The poker player from North Carolina earned her biggest score — $11,380 — and defeated Christina Gollins, a World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) ring winner, heads-up for the title. But she earned a little something else on top as the victory came with a package to the upcoming £100,000 guaranteed PokerStars Women's Winter Poker Festival at Hippodrome Casino in London.
The $330 Women's Event had 182 entries at Resorts World Las Vegas. The prize pool hit $50,960 and 27 players reached the money.
There were a number of high-profile players in the field, and at the final table, including popular poker content creator Caitlin Comeskey, who took fifth place for $3,000. PokerStars ambassador Marle Spragg (18th place for $660) and PokerStars Ambassador for Women in Poker, Kerryjane Craigie (14th place for $880) cashed.

There are two more 60-minute levels left to play tonight.
Tyler Hirschfeld raised to 2,500 under the gun and Richard Green called in the cutoff. Martin Gavasci then three-bet to 8,000 on the button and Hirschfeld moved all in for 16,900. Green folded, while Gavasci called to put Hirschfeld at risk.
Tyler Hirschfeld: A♠A♦
Martin Gavasci: A♣J♥
Hirschfeld had woken up with aces and the 3♦6♠10♣2♠6♣ board provided no help to Gavasci as he handed over the double up.

Matthew McEwan opened to 2,200 in the hijack and was quickly three-bet to 6,000 by Martin Lozano in the cutoff. Action then folded to Alejandro Lococo in the big blind.
After taking a moment, Lococo announced all in while easily covering both opponents. That produced two quick folds, as Lococo added more to his growing stack.

David Peters raised to 2,100 in the cutoff and Donnie Peters called on the button. Daniel Moran then three-bet to 8,500 in the small blind and David moved all in for 23,600. Donnie got out of the way, but Moran called.
David Peters: 10♣10♥
Daniel Moran: A♥5♦
Peters was ahead with his pair of tens as the flop came J♥10♦9♠ to give him a set. The 8♣ turn opened the possibility of a chop, but Peters remained in front through the 2♣ river to double up.

Yan Shing Tsang opened to 2,000 from the cutoff and was called by John Macdonald in the small blind and Mo Nuwwarah in the big blind.
The 7♠3♦2♠ flop and the K♦ turn both checked through.
On the 10♣ river, Macdonald led for 2,000 from the small blind. Nuwwarrah then announced a raise to 8,500. Tsang swiftly got out of the way before Macdonald quickly called. He got the bad news immediately as Nuwwarah revealed K♠8♣ for a turned top pair and was able to extract extra value on the river.

Evan Sandberg and Jack Isler went heads-up to a flop of 6♦7♣9♥ when Sandberg got his last 17,100 in the middle from early position and Isler put him at risk in the big blind.
Evan Sandberg: A♦A♣
Jack Isler: J♥9♣
Isler had flopped top pair but was behind Sandberg's aces. The A♠ fell on the turn to give Sandberg a set and leave Isler drawing dead going to the river, which was the A♥ to give Sandberg quads.
'That's a bit of overkill," a tablemate said as Sandberg doubled up.
