Akimov Busts Lonis to Take the Chip Lead

Jesse Lonis raised to 26,000 in early position before Baurzhan Akimov three-bet to 80,000 in middle position. Lonis came back with a four-bet to 235,000, and Akimov used a few time banks and eventually announced all in. Lonis snap-called for 835,000.

Lonis was ahead and poised for the massive double up until the flop brought 10♥9♦5♠, giving Akimov the lead with top pair. The turn was the 2♠, while the river came the 5♣ and Lonis was sent crashing to the rail as Akimov took over the tournament chip lead.
