Wade Townsend raised to 27,000 from early position only to face an all-in reraise of 132,000 more from Jeremy Ausmus. Action folded back to Townsend and he made the call:
Townsend:
Ausmus:
Ausmus was in great shape to double up if he could dodge a four, which is exactly what he did as the board ran out . Ausumus is up to 320,000 while Townsend is down to around 950,000.
Action folded to Victor Ramdin, our chip leader, in the cutoff and he threw in a raise to 27,000. Santiago Nadal called from the small blind as did Wade Townsend from the big. When the flop came down , action checked to Ramdin and he exerted some pressure with a 37,000 bet. Both his opponents folded and Ramdin added a few chips to his monster stack. Clearly he is more than happy to bully the table a bit.
From the cutoff seat, David Paredes raised to 25,000. Fab Gonzalez reraised from the small blind to 61,000. Action got back over to Paredes and he four-bet to 115,000. Gonzalez called.
The flop came down and Gonzalez checked. Paredes checked right behind to see the add some paint to the board on the turn. Gonzalez checked and Paredes bet 98,000. Gonzalez made the call.
The final card to the board was the and Gonzalez checked. Paredes bet 230,000. With 285,000 behind, Gonzalez tanked and tanked. He thought for several long minutes before finally making the call. Paredes turned over the for trip queens and Gonzalez mucked his hand as he was knocked all the way down to just 55,000 in chips. Paredes is now up to around 1.4 million.
On the board of , Victor Ramdin fired a bet of 100,000. Wade Townsend tanked for a couple minutes and then made the call. Ramdin tabled the for trip fives and Townsend mucked.
Ramdin moved to 1.9 million while Townsend slipped to 920,000.
Taylor von Kriegenbergh raised from under the gun to 25,000. Romik Vartzar called from the next seat and then action folded around to Chris DeMaci in the small blind. He moved all in for around 250,000. Von Kriegenbergh reraised all in and that knocked Vartzar out of the way.
Von Kriegenbergh:
DeMaci:
The board ran out to miss DeMaci and send him to the rail in 20th place. After coming second last year in the 2010 North American Poker Tour Los Angeles Main Event, DeMaci finished with a cash of $11,500 here again at The Bike.
Alex Kamberis raised to 26,000 preflop and received calls from David Paredes and Jaime Kaplan. Action was then on a short-stacked Fab Gonzalez who moved all in for his last 55,000. Action folded back to Kamberis and he isolated with a raise up to 136,000. Both Paredes and Kaplan got out of the way and the cards were turned up:
Gonzalez:
Kamberis:
Gonzalez was in rough shape and needed some major help. Unfortunately for him, the board ran out and Gonzalez was eliminated in 19th place.
Just before the break, Jaime Kaplan put in a standard preflop raise only to face a reraise from Bryan Leskowitz. Action folded back to Kaplan and he pushed back with an all-in shove. Leskowitz snap-called for his tournament life, which was a total of 396,000 chips, and the cards were turned up:
Kaplan:
Leskowitz:
Kaplan had picked a bad spot and couldn't improve as the board ran out . He was crippled after the hand being left with less than 200,000. Meanwhile, it has been a good start to the day for Leskowitz, who is up to 900,000 after starting with less than 300,000.
Joe Gaultieri moved all in under the gun with and was called by the of Taylor von Kriegenbergh. Gaultieri could not catch and was eliminated from the tournament in 18th place, good for $11,500.
