Striking out swinging for the fence yesterday in his quest for a fourth 2019 tournament series win Daniel "Donk" Hughes was feeling the needle. Tweeting that he was feeling it after notably not advancing out of Day 1a, Hughes has rolled out of bed and joined the field.
Della Jones went easy on them. During a couple month, spring swing through Ecuador and Peru she got invited to play in a couple home games. $5 buy-ins aren't much but if there is money involved it is worth padding the pocket for.
While she did not run over the table to collect the money she was a winner with the experiences she had, the places she saw, and the people she met.
Della is people person. She is a visible ambassador of the game, working to grow the game with women and seniors. In particular she plays as many Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS) tournaments as she can and is actively involved in the Senior Poker Tour. From Mannford, Oklahoma, she particularly plays tournaments in the region. She especially enjoys the RunGood Poker Series.
With more than $100,000 in career earnings Jones is clearly as successful on the felt as she is with her work in the poker world.
