Nashar Makes Liu the First Elimination of the Series

The first knockout of the series just happened on Table #23, with the action recalled by one of the players.

On one of the first hands of the event, Changyang Liu raised from early position to 1,100 before Ravi Sheth three-bet to 3,700 from late position. Hassan Nashar was a few seats over and cold four-bet to 27,000. Liu wasn't done yet, as he put in a five-bet. Sheth got out of the way, but Nashar six-bet ripped it for about 100,000. Liu made the call for the rest of the stack, and the cards were tabled.

Nashar had slightly more chips than Liu, but whoever lost the race would likely be the first elimination of the day. The 7♦4♦5♦ flop gave Nashar a flush draw and some extra outs. The 4♥ hit the turn, but the 3♦ appeared on the river to give Nashar the flush.

Liu headed to the exit as the first elimination of the 2025 Onyx Super High Roller Series, while Nasahr had over double the starting stack.
