Mizrachi Attempts to Crack Aces With Seven-High
Arriving at the table to see Roman Stoika all-in and at risk against Michael Mizrachi. According to players at the table, Stoika opened under the gun, before Mizrachi three-bet from the cutoff. Stoika four-bet, then Mizrachi five-bet jammed for Stoika's stack of 880,000. Stoika called, creating a pot of 1,710,000.
After the rest of the tables finished, a huge crowd formed around the table, and the floor staff announced for the cards to be revealed.
Roman Stoika: A♦A♥
Michael Mizrachi: 7♣4♣
Mizrachi was going for it with two suited cards and had run into the preflop nuts of Stoika. However, with five cards to come, anything was possible.
The dealer put out a flop of 9♦8♦6♣ to offer Mizrachi a straight draw, and prompted the crowd to erupt in excitement of possibly witnessing a brutal beat on the bubble.
A card was burned, then the 7♥ hit the turn and Stoika just had to get a clean river to score the huge double up on the bubble. The 8♥ rolled off on the river and Stoika's aces held up, allowing him to pull in the pot of over 1,700,000.
