Ladev Folds to MacDonald's Pressure

Tom MacDonald raised from the cutoff before his neighbor on the button, Markkos Ladev, made it 52,000 to go. MacDonald four-bet to 170,000, and Ladev continued with a call.

With 350,000 in the pot already, the two pros saw the dealer put out a flop of 8♣9♣2♣. MacDonald bet 75,000, which Ladev called.

The board-pairing 9♦ dropped on the turn, and MacDonald put out a second barrel of 160,000. This was enough to get Ladev to fold, and MacDonald earned the pot.

Mehdi Chaoui raised to 14,000 from the cutoff with Markkos Ladev calling out of the small blind, and Manuel Fritz defending his big blind.

Ladev opted to lead out on the 3♠10♣7♠ flop for 6,000, which both Fritz and Chaoui called.

Everyone checked the A♦ tun to see the 5♥ roll off on the river. Ladev placed out a bet of 10,000, and was met by a raise to 135,000 by Fritz. Chaoui and Ladev folded, which allowed Fritz to scoop up the pot.

Rehman Kassam has reentered the tournament and is sitting with a fresh stack of 1,000,000.

On a completed board of 10♥9♣7♥A♦7♦, Henrik Hecklen placed a bet of 26,000 out from the big blind, and Phil Ivey called from under the gun. Dejan Kaladjurdjevic, who was seated in the cutoff, thought for a while before raising to 75,000.

Hecklen released his cards almost instantaneously, but Ivey didn't. Instead, Ivey went into deep thought for quite some time, burning through a couple of his time banks.

Ultimately, Ivey flicked in the call and was shown a bluff by Kaladjurdjevic with 6x4x. Ivey tabled A♠K♠ for a pair of aces and the pot headed his way.

After around 30 minutes of play, Rehman Kassam was seen leaving the tournament area and was the first casualty of the tournament.

Kassam lost a big pot to Rahul Byrraju, who is now sitting with a stack of roughly 2,000,000. Kassam has the chance to reenter within an hour.
