Biao Ding opened from under the gun playing five-handed and Dirk Gerritse potted from the button to 870,000. Ding then shoved when it got to him, and Gerritse called off around 300,000 he had behind.

Gerritse was in the lead, but fell behind after the 5♠K♣9♥ flop gave Ding two pair. A Q♦ didn't change much, and Ding boated up on the 9♦ river to end Gerritse's run.
A full board of K♦6♣10♠8♠4♦ was on display with 3,500,000 in the pot. Biao Ding had potted it from the big blind, and "Dubai Police" was in the tank while he mulled over the decision.
Eventually, "Dubai Police" did call. Ding then showed A♠J♥9♠9♦ for the nut straight blockers, and his opponent flipped 8♣7♠5♣4♠ for a straight to scoop the pot and take the chip lead!
The pace has slowed down a little as the field is only two eliminations away from the money. Armin Ghojehvand was one card away from the door, but found a miracle river to survive.
The chips had gone in on a flop of 2♣8♥6♥, with Ghojehvand's 705,000 at risk against Phil Ivey.

Elsewhere, both Ben Lamb and Lautaro Guerra just took down small pots to boost their stacks, which left Dirk Gerritse as the short stack with around 1,200,000.
Martin Dam opened to 240,000 on the button and Laszlo Bujtas called from the big blind.
Bujtas check-called a bet of 200,000 on the A♦2♦4♣ flop to the 3♦ turn, where both checked. The 8♥ river also checked through, and Dam's 8♣5♣5♠3♣ was good for a straight as Bujtas flipped two pair with A♥J♦6♥2♥.
