Garcia Goes From a Chop to the Nuts on the River
Level 23
: Blinds 100,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Cesar Garcia raised to 750,000 in the small blind with A♦A♣10♣8♦ and Gruffudd Pugh-Jones called in the big blind holding A♠10♥8♠3♥.
The flop came Q♣J♥10♠ and Garcia bet 800,000. Pugh-Jones called, and the K♣ turn gave both players the nut straight.
Garcia then bet 2,500,000, and Pugh-Jones called. The river, though, was the 4♣ to improve Garcia to the nut flush. He then bet 8,350,000, and Pugh-Jones quickly folded.
