Martirosian Flushes Grubinger Out

Level 15 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Marcel Grubinger
Marcel Grubinger

Artur Martirosian raised to 105,000 from the cutoff before Marcel Grubinger potted it from the small blind. Martirosian shoved, and Grubinger called for his stack of around 500,000.

Marcel Grubinger: AA99 All in
Artur Martirosian: AKK10

Martirosian started the hand with not too much more than Grubinger, so this pot was pivotal to his future in Day 1a of the Main Event.

Martirosian picked up a flush draw on the 583 flop, although Grubinger's bullets were still ahead.

A 7 hit the turn, which meant only a king or spade would bust Grubinger.

The dealer peeled out the 3 on the river to complete Martirosian's flush, and Grubinger said, "GG", as he tapped the table and headed for the rail.

Sondre Stormyr raised to 75,000 from the small blind and Dafishh called from the big blind.

Stormyr put Dafishh all in for about 100,000 on the 43J flop and Dafishh instantly called.

Dafishh: K654 All in

Stormyr had aces, but Dafishh could hit a lot of cards to double-up and stay in with a chance of making Day 2.

The 8 was safe for Stormyr's aces, and so was the 8 river. Dafishh hit the rail and Stormyr was the first player to surpass the two million chip mark.
