Chouity Wins a Flip to Survive vs Brooks
Level 7
: Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Nicolas Chouity's stack of 88,000 found its way into the middle from the button, with Patrick Brooks looking to score the knockout from the small blind.
Nicolas Chouity: J♠J♦
Patrick Brooks: A♥K♣
It was a coin flip, but Brooks took the lead after pairing his king on the K♥7♠9♠ flop.
Chouity began to rise from his chair, but the poker gods weren't finished with him just yet. The K♠ turn gave him additional outs in the form of a flush draw, although it also improved Brooks to trips.
Chouity's fortunes changed for the better when the 4♠ completed the runout, giving him a flush and earning him a double-up through Brooks.
