The Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa once again takes centre stage as the Onyx High Roller Series continues, with attention now turning to the $5,000,000 guaranteed $25,500 Main Event.
The headline event gets underway today with the first of three starting flights beginning at 1 p.m. local time. Day 1b follows at the same time on August 12, before the turbo Day 1c takes place later that evening at 9 p.m., giving players three opportunities to secure their place in Day 2.
Players will begin with a 200,000 starting stack with the blinds starting at 500/1,000 and a 1,000 big blind ante. The first two flights feature 40-minute levels, with the turbo flight switching to a 20-minute structure. Rather than playing a predetermined number of levels, each starting flight will continue until just 15% of the field remains. At that point, those players will have secured a place in the money and bag their chips for Day 2.

The survivors will return for Day 2 at 1 p.m. local time on August 13, when the pace will slow to 60-minute levels. From there, the field will play down to the final table, with the remaining players returning at 1 p.m. the following day to crown the $25,500 Main Event champion.
A little under 12 months ago, Fahredin Mustafov was the player who came out on top, navigating a 227-player field to claim the title. The Bulgarian was rewarded with a $1,300,000 payday for his efforts, marking another major result in an already impressive career.
