The action continues today in the Onyx High Roller Series, with Day 1b of the $25,500 Main Event getting underway at 1 p.m. local time inside the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa.
Yesterday’s opening flight saw 113 players enter, each perhaps enticed by the $5,000,000 guarantee. By the time the flight was complete, only 17 had survived to advance to Day 2. Fortunately for those who weren't so lucky, there are still two more opportunities to join them, with Day 1b taking place today before the turbo Day 1c follows later this evening.
Leading the way from the opening flight is Fahredin Mustafov, who bagged 3,555,000 after bursting the Day 1a bubble to finish the day on top. Aliaksandr Shylko and Ali Al-Kubasi are closest behind, returning with 2,920,000 and 2,640,000 respectively.

Each starting flight will see players start with 200,000 chips, with blinds opening at 500/1,000 and a 1,000 big blind ante. Day 1b will play with 40-minute levels, while the turbo Day 1c will switch to 20-minute levels. Both flights will continue until just 15% of the field remains, at which point the surviving players will secure a place in the money and bag their chips for Day 2.
Those who make it through the remaining starting flights will return for Day 2 at 1 p.m. local time on August 13, when the levels will increase to 60 minutes. Play will continue until the final table is set, with the remaining players returning at 1 p.m. on August 14 to battle for the $25,500 Main Event title.
