Feng in Front as Action Heats Up

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante

Now the final table is three-handed chips are changing hands with increasing frequency, and the man involved in most of these pots is Ivan Leow. The Malaysian won a big pot from Chang Bo Feng after check-raising a {2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop to 800,000 with top pair and getting called by Feng with the rest of the action going check, check on the {k-Spades} turns and {8-Hearts} river. Leow's {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} was good for a 2.1 million chip pot.

Feng took some of these chips back the next hand after Leow limped the button and Xiaobo Zhou completed the small blind. Feng squeezed to 500,000 with Leow the only caller and the flop came down {8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, which Feng c-bet for 500,000.

Leow called once more and the {q-Spades} hit the turn, but that was it for cards in the hand, with Feng taking it down with a 1.2 million turn bet.

Wayne Zhang Eliminated In 4th Place (HK$483,700 / $61,652)

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante
Wayne Zhang
Wayne Zhang

It would take a dream spot for Ivan Leow to bust Wayne Zhang from this one.

Zhang had been short for a while and seemed to waiting to pick up a hand. He finally found something he liked and moved all-in for 770,000, which Xiaobo Zhou then called on the button. But when it folded to Leow in the big blind, he instantly jammed all-in for 2.78 million, and this sent Zhou into the tank.

Zhou was stood up, groaning, staring at Leow desperate for a read. Eventually he opted to fold, and when Leow turned over {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} Zhou let out a big sigh of relief, followed by a fist pump. He’d clearly made a good fold.

As for Zhang, he had {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and couldn’t hit anything on the {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts} board. Leow is now up to 4.69 million.

Leow Falling, Zhou Rising; Leow Doubles

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante

For a moment there, it all looked like it was going horribly wrong for Ivan Leow, who just had a river bluff picked off by Xiaobo Zhou to whittle the Malaysian player down to 1.3-million.

However, Leow took some of these chips back with interest the next hand after moving all-in from the button and got looked up by Zhou in the big blind.

Leow turned over {k-Spades}{j-Spades} and found himself in great shape against Zhou's {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. The board ran out {4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{q-Spades} to give Leow the double, and he climbed to 2.7 million, while Zhou dropped to 4.2 million.

Zhang Down, Feng Up Big

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante

Wayne Zhang’s stack just took a big hit, while Chang Bo Feng is up to nearly 7 million.

Zhang opened to 170,000 from the cutoff and Feng and Ivan Leow called out of the blinds. They saw a {9-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop which all three checked, bringing the {k-Spades} on the turn. Feng checked it, and Leow led out for 275,000. Both called.

The river was the {5-Spades} and now Feng led out for 250,000. That shook off Leow, but Zhang then raised it up to 1.01 million. Feng snap-called.

Zhang: {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Feng: {q-Spades}{9-Spades}

Running spades had given Feng a flush to beat Zhang’s second pair. That brings Feng up to 6.98 million, and after winning a pot without showdown Zhang is now on 900,000.

Zhou Gets Sneaky, Leow Doesn't Fall For It

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

It was Ivan Leow driving the action once again with an under-the-gun open to 175,000 with Xiaobo Zhou the only caller in the small blind.

Zhou checked the {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{j-Hearts} flop over to Leow, who continuation-bet 195,000, eliciting an instant call from Zhou. The {4-Spades} turn saw the action go check, check, and the {10-Hearts} river completed the hand.

Zhou made a quick check and while he mulled it over, Leow opted to check it back, much to Zhou's disappointment, with the Chinese player turning over {k-Hearts}{j-Spades} for a rivered straight and a pair.

Feng Gets Paid, Pulls Away

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Chang Bo Feng has just taken some chips off Ivan Leow to extend his chip lead.

Leow opened to 175,000 from the cutoff/UTG, and it folded to Feng in the big blind who defended. The flop fell {8-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Leow continued for 150,000 when checked to, which Feng would call.

The turn was the {2-Spades} which got two checks, resulting in the {j-Spades} river. Now Feng led out for 310,000, and after giving it some thought Leow tossed in a call. Feng showed {q-Spades}{7-Clubs} for top pair, and that was good as Leow mucked. "I was hoping you had a jack," Feng told him as raked in the pot, bringing his stack up to 6.1 million and dropping Leow to 3.3 million.

After that pot, Wayne Zhang managed to win a couple of pre-flop pots to increase his stack to 2 million, while Xiaobo Zhou is on 4 million.

Feng Wins Big

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

A big pot went down between Ivan Leow and Chang Bo Feng in a battle of the blinds, with the latter taking it down. We picked up the action on the river after some heavy betting between the two and over 1-million already in the pot with the board spread {5-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} just as Feng checked the action over Leow.

The Malaysian player cut out a bet of 650,000 and Feng considered his options before check-raising to 1.3-million in total, with Leow making a quick call. Leow turned over two pair with {j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, but had been outdrawn by Feng who had {k-Spades}{5-Hearts}.

That puts Feng out in front with the chip lead, while Wayne Zhang remains the short-stack with 1.55-million (around 19 big blinds), so he will have to get something going soon or face the risk of becoming too short.

Zhou Pays Off Leow

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Ivan Leow has not long won another pot from Xiaobo Zhou. It all started with a Zhou button raise, this time Chang Bo Feng folded the small blind and Leow just called from the big blind to take the action head-up to a flop of {4-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Clubs}, which both players checked.

Leow led the {3-Hearts} turn for 225,000 and Zhou made a quick call to bring in the {5-Spades} river. Leow cut out a sizable stack of pink 25k chips for a bet of 575,000 and Zhou made a face while he contemplated the call. Eventually, he made it, tossing out a single blue 1k calling chip, but could only muck when Leow turned over {7-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Austin Walton Eliminated In 5th Place (HKD$362,800/$46,242)

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Austin Walton
Austin Walton

We're down to four after an aggressive shove from Austin Walton ran into a serious hand.

Xiaobo Zhou had opened under the gun (or the hijack, if you prefer) to 175,000 and Ivan Leow called on the button. It folded to Walton in the big blind and he moved all-in for 1.41 million, which Zhou called while Leow folded.

Walton: {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Zhou: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Walton was in bad shape with two undercards but he picked up some help on the {9-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop. However, he couldn't improve on the {5-Diamonds} {q-Diamonds} turn or river, and he's out in fifth for HKD$362,800 ($46,242). Zhou is up to 4.94 million now.
