Leow Pulls Off Big Semi-Bluff On Paik
Ivan Leow and Albert Paik are friends. That's become apparent as the two have been spotted chatting away from the tables, and after all, they both final tabled the High Roller earlier in the OPC. However, that friendship hasn't stopped them from gunning for each other from time to time, as this latest hand proves.
Paik opened from middle position to 50,000, which was called by Xiaobo Zhou on the button. Leow then came along from the small blind, and Sang Hwang called from the big. Four ways to a flop, it fell and when it checked to Paik he continued for 80,000. Zhou made the call, and then Leow put in a raise to 225,000. That shook off Hwang, but Paik called, and Zhou looked interested too. He'd eventually step aside though.
The turn then came the , and after a long think Leow carried on betting. He made it 325,000, and Paik look pained. He rested his head on his hand and winced as he thought it through. Finally, he folded.
Leow quickly flipped over for nothing but an up-and-down draw, and Paik hit the table and quickly stood up, turning away from the table. At first he looked angry, but when he turned back around it was clear he was smiling under his face mask. Leow and Paik shared a few lines of chat, and Paik said he almost called.
"No hard feelings, ah?" said Leow, who now sits with 2.4 million while Paik drops to 825,000.
