Drum Roll Please

Jerome Bradpiece has just eliminated an opponent with kings versus queens, meaning he now has a grand total of... drum roll please, maestro... 5,500. Ah.

Yes, it's been a torrid day for the former GUKPT Walsall Champ, Bradpiece unable to truly get going and missing flops left, right and centre.

Meanwhile, Marty Wilson is cheering up/driving the table wild with his usual banter, even triggering a neighbour to sigh, 'You remind me of this woman I know, she just never stops talking either.'

Skalie Scalded

Former WSOP Main Event finalist John "Skalie" Kalmar has been knocked out by Andrew O'Flaherty. All the money went in on a {7-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {2-Spades} flop, Kalmar holding {9-Clubs} {9-Hearts} but was pipped by O'Flaherty's {10-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} which stayed ahead on the {Q-Hearts} turn and {7-Hearts} river.

Bullets Shoot Down Docherty

With the action folding round to David Docherty in the small blind, the Scot pushed for 11 big blinds with {K-?}{7-?}. The big blind thought for 20 seconds before calling with {A-?}{A-?}, which held up on an uneventful board.

"Not sure what he was thinking about," commented Docherty in the aftermath. "There's no need for that."

Tell Me Moor, Tell Me Moor, Did You Get Very Far?

Attemping to follow in Moorman2's footsteps.
Attemping to follow in Moorman2's footsteps.
Chris Moorman has just managed a luckily double up.

"The Hungarian guy in seat 1 was opening about 95% of pots from the cutoff before the antes so he's probably opening 99% of them now we have them. The small blind then flatted and he's been limping on the button a lot and not wanting to play big pots. So I jammed 33BB's with {Q-Hearts} {4-Hearts} from the big blind but the Hungarian guy actually had {A-?} {J-?}!" he explained.

The board came {J-Hearts} {10-?} {5-?} {A-Hearts} {K-?} and suddenly from being one card away from elimination, the Brit now has just over 20,000.

An Unbarrable River

More action than a first date with Snoopy now as we witness a rare three-way all-in! I wasn't quick enough out of the blocks to catch the preflop action, but with a {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs} waiting patiently on the felt, Mark Boon led for 850, Sigi Stockinger raised it to 3,850 and Peter Barrable shoved all in for around 8,500.

Boon paused momentarily before pushing his stack of circa 15-20,000 across the line, and Stockinger quickly followed, sliding in what looked to be little more.

"One of us must have the same hand," deduced Barrable as he tabled {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}, and he was right to be cynical as Stockinger revealed {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. What neither men will have predicted was Boon's hand, as he flipped {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the open-ended straight flush draw, not to mention bottom pair.

As the final two cards were dealt, Stockinger and Barrable held their breath in unison, and you would have been forgiven for thinking they were the men behind. But they were right to be apprehensive (after all, Barrable had gone from the ecstasy of holding the nuts with a bet and a raise in front of him to the dismay of merely splitting with a vulnerable hand), as the {7-Clubs} turn was quickly followed by the...

... {6-Hearts}.

Whilst Barrable said an unrepeatable word and Stockinger raised his hands aloft, Boon sat motionless, jumping for joy inside, but remaining politely calm on the outside. "Good luck, everyone," wished Barrable, as he quietly slipped away. Stockinger returned, in silence, to his now paltry stack.

Toasty Lewis

James Kerrane opened from the cutoff and Toby Lewis reraised to 2,250 on the button. Kerrane made the call and the flop came down a dangerous looking {K-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}. Kerrane led out for 3,500 before Lewis reraised to 9,000. Kerrane shoved and Lewis quickly called.

Kerrane: {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}
Lewis: {Q-Hearts} {J-Spades}

Lewis had two pair but Kerrane had a straight flush draw. Unfortunately for the latter, it was pretty much over by the {J-Hearts} turn, only the {A-Diamonds} or {9-Diamonds} could win Kerrane the pot while the case Queen would mean a split.

The river was the {7-Hearts} though and that put the youngster up to about 36,000.

Too Lyttle, Too Late

Darren Lyttle has joined Di Caprio, Nicholson and Damon in the 'Departed', as he just ran cowboys into two pair. I'm not sure when the chips went in (the flop, I expect), but it was {K-Clubs}{K-Spades} versus {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} on a {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{A-Clubs}X board.

Tipped Over

The Marbella Kid
The Marbella Kid
Paul Zimbler has been crippled by a hand that must have sent him seething, mildly on the outside, but likely a blind rage on the inside.

I arrived at the very tail end of the hand, all the chips finding their way into the middle on an {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs} board.

As Zimbler was shown {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}, he leapt from his chair in frustration, "So sick! Flopped a set." His opponent rose to shake his hand, and Zimbler accepted. "I wouldn't put 1,800 in with three outs," he added with a shake of the head.

Nevertheless, Zimbler finds himself with less than 1,000 after losing what must have been a circa 30,000 pot and in desperate need of a double up... or five.
