Durrer Disappears, Sweeney Swept Away

Michael Durrer has just been eliminated, reraising all-in with {K-Clubs} {10-Clubs} and losing out to the {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs} of Declan Connolly.

Paul Sweeney has also been knocked out, he found Kings on the button but Peter Krikkay had Aces in the small blind and duly hit a full house on the {J-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} board.

Free Mason

Unfortunately, I don't think Jen Mason wanted to be freed from the Irish Open, and certainly not in this fashion. Shoving over the top of Paul Carr's raise from the small blind, Carr rose from his seat and announced call.

Mason = {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Carr = {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The {9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} flop favoured Carr, but it was Mason who went ahead on the {K-Diamonds} turn. The {6-Diamonds} river, however, refavoured Carr, and although he didn't quite realise it at first, Mason certainly did, the fourth diamond seeing her reach for her coat as soon as it hit.

"Standard hand," observed Andrew Miles.

No Air Miles.

No Smiles For Miles
No Smiles For Miles
Andy Miles has been eliminated after getting it all-in with {J-?} {10-?} against the {2-?} {2-?} of Peter Murphy on a {J-?} {2-Clubs} {6-Clubs} board. No miracle runner runner and Miles was gone.

Misery for Steven King

Back to writing scary books.
Back to writing scary books.
Steven King has been knocked out, he bet 20,000 on the flop of {6-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} before pushing on the {8-Diamonds} turn against an obstinate {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} (whose player number we couldn't see grrr).

With a flush draw and double gutshot, King had many outs but the {10-Diamonds} wasn't one of them and he was knocked out as a result.

Flood Gets Damned

Well, Snteri Valikoski now has more chips than my favourite branch of Harry Ramsden's. It also marks the end of a remarkable downfall for Liam Flood.

Flood was all-in with {Q-Clubs} {Q-Spades} against Valikoski's {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} and with a board of {6-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {J-Clubs} coming down, the Irish crowd sighed in disappointment.

Valikoski has about 630,000 and must be the chip leader.
