Persaud Noses Ahead

Having lost a couple of pots, Steven Noseworthy moved all-in for about 81,000. Nik Persaud pushed beind him and everyone else folded.

Noseworthy: {A-Hearts} {5-Hearts}
Persaud: {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}

The board of {Q-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {10-Clubs} helped neither and Noseworthy makes a decent return given that it cost him $7 to win his seat online.

Back to the Rail, Marty

Much to the disappointment of the crowd, the dream is over for one 'Mad' Marty Wilson. With Edmund Sweeney opening from under the gun, Marty Wilson moved all in from the small blind with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} (the second consecutive hand he'd been dealt the ladies) and Sweeney immediately called. Sweeney showed {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}.

"Come on, one black lady," requested Wilson in desperation. He surrounded his mouth with the palm of his hand before bellowing, "We need a black lady!"

The board came a black lady-less {8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts} and that was all she wrote. Marty Wilson: gone, but certainly not forgotten.

Richy Not Rich

Another classic 57-43 matchup as Declan Connolly's {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs} went up against Richard Robinson's {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}.

The flop of {A-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {10-Spades} hushed Connolly's supporters and they clamoured for a king on the turn. Someone was listening because the {K-Clubs} duly appeared and the rail roared with delight. The redraw was avoided with the {10-Diamonds} on the river and Connolly doubles to 540,000. Robinson drops to 230,000.

Another One Bites the Dust

With the ghost of Freddie Mercury watching at ringside, "another one bites the dust" as Amby Travers succumbs to the might of the coin flip.

With Yann Dion opening from the cut-off for 26,000, Travers took one look down at {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and pushed all in for 116,500. After a minute or two of deliberation, Dion made the call with {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}.

Board: {3-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}

Dion exhales a deep sigh of relief in what was a rare show of emotion whilst Travers left to a nice, warm round of applause.

More Chips Head Straight To Persaud

Nik Persaud raised to 37,000 and Barry Donovan made the call on the button.

Both checked the {6-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {10-Hearts} flop before Persaud bet 30,000 on the {10-Clubs} turn. Donovan called and we saw a {8-Spades} river. Persaud now checked and Donovan bet 52,500. Persaud quickly called with {A-Hearts} {9-Spades} and Donovan was forced to show {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}.

Maurice Whelan - The Lazarus Of Poker

Some people call him the space cowboy, some call him the gangster of love...
Some people call him the space cowboy, some call him the gangster of love...
He can't be killed, he's like the Terminator combined with the Predator combined with Rambo.

Maurice Whelan was all-in with {K-Clubs} {6-Clubs} and survived once more against Peter Murphy's {J-Spades} {10-Spades} after a {K-?} {Q-?} {K-?} {3-Hearts} {2-?} board.

Nik Persaud Eliminated

Yann Dion raised to 35,000 from the hijack and Santeri Valikoski made the call one seat along, only for the action to grind to a halt on Nik Persaud in the small blind. Persaud riffled his chips before sliding in a raise to what I believe was 80,000 more.

Dion folded, but Valikoski was less hasty, requesting a count from Persaud as he looked him up and down. After a while, he made the call.

Flop: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}{6-Hearts}

Persaud paused briefly before tapping the table. Valikoski echoed the gesture.

Turn: {J-Diamonds}

Persaud checked once again, only for Valikoski to reach for a column of yellow chips worth 100,000, which he speedily pushed into the middle. Persaud made the call.

River: {Q-Diamonds}

Persaud checked, and without hesitation, Valikoski took one glance at the dealer and announced all-in. Persaud called before the words had barely left the Norwegian's mouth.

Valikoski tabled {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for the full house, and Persaud started pushing his stack towards his opponent. "Well played," he congratulated as he offered him a glimpse at his two red kings, {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}.

Persaud out, whilst Valikoski adds another half a million to his stack to become your new chip leader.
