Skreens Sends One to the Rail

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Bryan Skreens
Bryan Skreens

We came upon the action with one player all-in and at risk for about 15,000 chips holding {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and up against the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} of Bryan Skreens.

Skreens' queens held up on a board of {2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{j-Hearts} to add a nice chunk to his stack and eliminate his opponent.

Pocket Rockets Propel Humphrey to a Double

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Jerry Humphrey
Jerry Humphrey

The under-the-gun player raised to 3,600 only to have Jerry Humphrey three-bet to 9,000 next to act. Action folded back around to the UTG player and he called to see a {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Spades} flop.

The UTG player check-called a bet of 6,000 and then checked the {3-Diamonds} turn. Humphrey moved all in for 49,600 and the UTG player tank called.

Jerry Humphrey: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
UTG Player: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Humphrey had the bigger pocket pair and shipped the double after the {3-Clubs} was run out on the river.

Miller Straightens Out Saleh

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Bryant Miller opened for 5,000 from early position and called when Yousef Saleh three-bet jammed for 10,200 from the button.

Bryant Miller: {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Yousef Saleh: {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

It was a flip and Saleh took the lead when the {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop paired his ace. However, Miller picked up a wheel draw, and while the {j-Clubs} turn didn't complete it, the {2-Diamonds} river did.

With one level of re-entries remaining, Saleh indicated he'd be giving it another go.

Everybody Loves a Chopped Pot

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Michael Berk raised from the cutoff to 4,500 and was called by Ryan Phan in the big blind.

On a flop of {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, Phan checked to Berk who continued for 4,000. Phan raised all-in for about 30,000 and was called by Berk.

Berk held {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} versus the {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} of Phan.

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} to put a straight on the board and the players chopping the pot.

Hands with Howard: A One Outer on the River

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Howard Hankin
Howard Hankin

After a player raised to 5,000 from early position, Howard Hankin three-bet all in for 26,000 next to act. Sarah Stefan then jammed over the top for 28,700 and action folded around to the original raiser, who opted to call to put both players at risk.

Howard Hankin: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Sarah Stefan: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Opponent: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

Stefan was best but the river did her dirty as the board ran out {3-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} to give an excited Hankin a winning set on the river.

"Feel grateful Howard," someone at the table said. "That was a one outer."

"You had a nine?" Hankin asked.

"I did," came the reply. Stefan won a small side pot for 5,400, which she doubled in the next hand.

Unfortunately for her, she busted in the penultimate hand of the level. The silver lining is the re-entry option is available through the break, though whether or not she exercises it remains to be seen.
