Andrew Camacho Wins the $1,200 New England Poker Championship; Steven Tabb Finishes Second Again
Andrew Camacho enjoyed the joy of victory, while Steven Tabb went through the agony of defeat yet again at the final table of the $1,200 New England Poker Championship.
Camacho defeated Tabb heads-up to win the $30,000 top prize and inaugural Jordan Fishman Cup for prevailing over the 104-entry field. The Dartmouth, Massachusetts native had just one recorded live cash before this event for $378. For Tabb, the result was bittersweet after he was also runner-up to Fishman a year ago.

Camacho's run at the final table included a miraculous double up, when he spiked a set on the river to crack Jason Kuperschmid's aces. He then won a classic flip with two queens against Tabb's ace-king, and moved into a massive chip lead when he doubled up with two nines.
The end came when Tabb, down to 2,585,000 and less than ten big blinds, shoved with ten-three, but he was dominated by Camacho's ten-nine. Camacho's nine-kicker continued to play to earn him the title.
