Karle Halts Bomey's Comeback Attempt
Level 9
: Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Thomas Karle limped in from the hijack before Nathan Bomey, who had chipped up significantly since taking the massive hit against Diane Zimmerman earlier, raised to 4,000 in the cutoff. Viswanath Ponraj called on the button, while Karle then reraised to 42,200. Bomey called, while Ponraj got out of the way.
Karle had just 1,200 behind and put in it even before the dealer revealed the 7♦J♠K♣ flop. Bomey called.
Thomas Karle: A♥K♠
Nathan Bomey: A♣J♦
Both players had flopped a pair, while Karle was ahead with his kings. The board ran out 5♦Q♣, and Karle doubled up.
