Zimmerman Smacks the Turn to Double Off Karle
Level 9
: Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Thomas Karle raised to 4,200 in the cutoff and was called by Viswanath Ponraj on the button and Diane Zimmerman in the big blind.
"Let's play a game like they do in school. Can you spell this word? F-O-L-D," Karle joked with Ponraj as they headed to the 3♣10♦8♠ flop. He then bet 14,000, and Ponraj tapped the felt and folded.
"He hasn't won yet," Zimmerman said as she called.
"It was a nice bet," Ponraj replied with a laugh.
The turn was the 9♥ and Karle bet 35,000. Zimmerman then moved all in for 56,900, and Karle quickly called. "I turned the nuts," Zimmerman said, turning over Q♣J♠.
"You called with a gutter ball? How?" Karle lamented as he tossed J♦J♣ into the middle of the table. The river was the A♠, and Zimmerman doubled up.
