Level 9
: Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Michael Vital bet 4,000 from the button on a flop of 10♣6♣J♥ and Joe McKeehen raised to 16,000 in the hijack. Vital then moved all in, and McKeehen quickly called for 95,000.
Joe McKeehen: J♠10♥
Michael Vital: 6♥6♦
McKeehen had flopped top two pair, but Vital turned over a set. The rest of the board ran out 4♦Q♣, and Vital took down the massive pot to send McKeehen to the rail.
At the same time on another table, Clark Embrey moved all in for 35,000 from the cutoff on a flop of J♦A♦5♦ and Phong Nguyen called in the big blind.
Clark Embrey: A♥9♦
Phong Nguyen: A♣J♣
Both players had hit an ace, but Nguyen had flopped two pair to take a big lead in the pot. The board ran out 7♣4♥, and Embrey also headed for the exit.
