Schmegel Rivers Broadway to Bust McKeehen
Level 11
: Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Andy Schmegel recently busted past world champion Joe McKeehen and helped fill in the details.
According to Schmegel, McKeehen opened to 3,500 in the cutoff and Schmegel defended K♦10♦ in the big blind. The flop came ace-queen high with one diamond, and McKeehen continued for 2,500. Schmegel called, and the A♦ fell on the turn.
McKeehen then bet 12,500, and Schmegel again called. McKeehen bet 8,000 on the J♣ river, and Schmegel moved all in. McKeehen called for 35,000 with ace-eight for trips, but Schmegel's rivered straight earned him the pot to send McKeehen to the rail.
