Futterman, Sorokin Chop Bubble

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Brandon Cantu
Brandon Cantu

After Brandon Cantu went bust, the tournament was on the bubble. At Cantu's old table, Nika Futterman jammed 65,000 in the cutoff and Matt Glantz shoved over in the small blind to chase away the big. Glantz's {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} crushed Futterman's {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, especially after he flopped a set and turned quads.

Meanwhile, there was an all-in pot at the other table. Vinicius Lima looked like he had three-bet a Maxim Sorokin open to 44,000, and he tank-called a four-bet ship for 177,000.

Lima: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Sorokin: {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{a-Hearts}, giving Lima aces for the win on the river.

As both players were eliminated the same hand at different tables, they chopped 15th-place money.

Schulz Eliminated

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Robert Schulz opened for 14,000 in the cutoff and called the shove of small blind Jake Daniels, who had 65,000.

Daniels: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Schulz: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, sending the pot to Daniels with queens.

The next hand, there was an open for 14,000 and a call, and Schulz moved in for 65,000. The opener folded, but Vinicius Lima called to close the action.

Lima: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Schulz: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Lima flopped kings and queens and turned Schulz dead with queens full.

Barbero Doubles Through Futterman

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Nacho Barbero shoved 127,000 over a middle-position open from Nika Futterman.

"I have to call this one," she said, showing {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. Barbero had {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and they were racing.

The {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs} hit the board, leaving Barbero in need of help on the final card. He got it when the {a-Clubs} fell.

Two Doubles

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Nika Futterman got her 112,000 in preflop with {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} but was trailing the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} of Zo Karim. Futterman flopped two pair on an all-club flop and held from there.

At another table, Matt Davenport was tanking against an all-in check-raise from Sam Panzica on a {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop. Davenport had bet 17,000 and Panzica was putting him at risk for 96,000 more. Davenport tanked a few minutes and called with {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Panzica had {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a flush draw and live cards. The {4-Spades} turn and {k-Hearts} river left ace-high best.

Cantu Pays Pelton

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Brandon Cantu bet 20,000 from the small blind on a {7-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} board, and Chan Pelton made it 48,000 on the button. Cantu called.

"What do you need?" Pelton asked with a smile.

Cantu was silent and checked the {4-Diamonds} river. Pelton bet 56,500.

"I really think I'm good," Cantu said, leaning back. Finally, he called.

Pelton showed {q-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and took it with trips.

Players are on break for 15 minutes.

Bonacci Left Short

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Frank Bonacci put a short-stacked Raymond Dandrea at risk preflop with {a-Spades}{10-Spades} but was behind Dandrea's {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}. The board ran out clean for Dandrea despite a {k-}{j-}{x-} flop, and he collected 44,000, about half of Bonacci's stack.
