A Cheap Cooler

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

It's the kind of hand every poker player dreads--you feel like you're beat, but you just can't fold. Only this time, the player on the worse end managed to lose the minimum.

With the board reading {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Hearts}, Brian Lane bet out 10,000. His only opponent, Russell Banks, thought for a bit and then called. The river was the {9-Spades} and Lane again bet 10,000.

Banks lightly slapped the table a few times to indicate he wanted a check out of Lane.

"Aw, I can't help it, I've gotta call," he said, tossing in the chips.

Lane turned over {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Banks nodded as he showed {j-}{10-}.
