The results are in and the first Southern Poker Open will pay the winner $72,895. The tournament drew 1,138 players over three days and five starting flights and almost doubled the $200,000 guarantee.

Huey Hulin bagged the overall chip lead in the early flight today with 405,500 and will be in front of 234 coming back Sunday at noon. The top 117 places are going to make the money.

The field will be full of some RunGood regulars and other faces familiar to poker. RunGood Ambassador Mina Greco bagged the opening flight, Charles “Woody” Moore bagged the final flight, and two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Keith Lehr bagged the opening flight as well. However, he took a shot and registered again, only to bag over 200,000 — almost doubling his opening flight chip stack.

This was the first ever Southern Poker Open and the entire mood throughout the weekend so far has been jovial, filled with celebration, giveaways, and a ton of flips.

Play resumes Sunday at noon with the final 234 players aiming for that $72,895 first prize. Follow all the action on PokerNews.com until the first-ever Southern Poker Open champion is crowned.

The seating chart and a complete list of the chip counts will be posted as soon as it is ready.
