Joris Ruijs Eliminated in 3rd Place (€38,800)

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Joris Ruijs
Joris Ruijs

Joris Ruijs jammed his short stack with {q-Spades}{6-Spades} and was called by Patrik Antonius with {k-}{8-}.

The {7-}{5-}{4-}{10-}{j-} wasn't able to help Ruijs with a double-up and he hit the rail in third place for €38,800.

He said after his elimination that he was happy with the cash. Ruijs is also the chip leader heading into the final table of the Main Event tomorrow.

The two remaining players agreed to take a short break before starting heads-up action. Antonius has a 2:1 chip advantage against Joni Jouhkimainen to start play.

Jouhkimainen Doubles

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Joris Ruis opened the button for 12,000. Patrik Antonius three-bet to 35,000 before Joni Jouhkimainen four-bet jammed for 109,500. Ruis five-bet jammed for about 140,000 and Antonius folded.

The race was on. Ruis turned over {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} and was flipping against the {k-Clubs}{q-Spades} held by Jouhkimainen.

The {7-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop paired up Johkimainen and Ruijs was never able to catch up with the {2-Spades} on the turn and the {5-Clubs} on the river completing the board.

Rahul Byrraju: {a-Spades}{3-Hearts}

Robert Mizrachi jammed from the small blind for 27,000 and Patrik Antonius snap called from the big blind. Antonius immediately turned over {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Mizrachi knew he was in trouble and pretended to try to use one of his time bank tickets before exposing his {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}.

The {9-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} flop gave Antonius a set and Mizrachi was drawing dead after that improved to a full house with the {9-Spades} coming on the turn. The {10-Hearts} on the river made the hand official and Mizrachi hit the rail.

The remaining four players are each guaranteed a payout of €20,102.

Antonius Eliminates Mattila

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Jussi Mattila
Jussi Mattila

The action folded around to Jussi Mattila in the small blind who jammed for 60,000. Patrik Antonius used one of his time bank tickets in the big blind.

"I am good Patrik," Mattila said. "You would only be ahead if you called right away."

Antonius did eventually make the call and turned over {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. It was a race with Mattila turning over {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

The {2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop was a safe one for Mattila.

"I hope an eight comes," Mattila said to Antonius.

The {k-Clubs} on the turn kept Mattila in good shape. However, Mattila was able to see into the future as the {8-Clubs} came on the river to give Antonius a pair and send Mattila to the rail in sixth place.
