Ruijs on Fire, Takes out Two

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Joris Ruijs
Joris Ruijs

Raiki Reinsoo jammed 20 big blinds and was called by Joris Ruijs. Ruijs held an advantage in the hand heading to the flop with {a-}{q-} against his opponent's {a-}{10-}.

The {q-}{6-}{8-} flop paired Ruijs and Reinsoo needed a pair of runners to stay alive. The {7-} on the turn gave Reinsoo a chance with a gutshot straight draw. However, the {3-} was of no help and Reinsoo headed to the tournament registration desk to quickly re-enter for a fresh 30 big blind stack.

Shortly after, Ruijs was at it again, this time felting Estonian poker legend Markku Koplimaa with pocket kings against pocket jacks in a pot of 80 big blinds. Koplimaa quickly got back in action as well, while Ruijs' stack soared to near the chip lead.
