Flushes for Stokkan and Ho

Level 12 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Preben Stokkan raised to 85,000 from the cutoff and Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault three-bet to 250,000 out of the small blind. Stokkan four-bet shoved all in for 865,000 and Carpentier-Perrault called. Stokkan tabled {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Carpentier-Perrault showed {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}. The flop came {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Stokkan flopped a flush. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn and the {8-Diamonds} on the river were no help to Carpentier-Perrault and Stokkan doubled up.

On the next hand, Michael Malm raised to 80,000 from early position and was called by Carpentier-Perrault on the button and Maria Ho in the big blind. The flop fell {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and the action was checked around to the {2-Spades} on the turn. Ho led out for 155,000 and was called by Malm and Carpentier-Perrault.

The river brought the {5-Hearts} and Ho fired out a bet of 400,000. Malm thought for a minute before he made the call. Carpentier-Perrault also took his time, tanking for about two minutes and he called as well. Ho tabled {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for a flush and both of her opponents mucked their cards.

Garla Gets Caught By Kristian

Level 12 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Kristian Wiermyhr opened with a raise to 125,000 from middle position, picking up two callers before Luis Garla put in the 3-bet to 475,000 from the big blind.

After taking a moment to mull it over, Wiermyhr moved all-in for just over 3,000,000. Action quickly folded back to Garla, who seemed reluctant to let his hand go. It took a minute, but eventually Garla folded his hand, with Wiermyhr picking up a huge chunk of loose change.

Karlic Kanit Showdown

Level 11 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

We join the action with Gerald Karlic all-in for his last 155,000, having picked up two callers. Both active players check the sidepot on an {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop, with the {4-Clubs} coming down on the turn. Mustapha Kanitvput out a bet, getting a quick fold from his opponent, and the cards were on their backs.

"I made a set," said Karlic, sheepishly, tabling {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}.

"That's okay, I have outs," replied Kanit, showing the {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

The {3-Diamonds} river bricked, with Karlic dragging in a pot to keep his MILLIONS Main Event dream alive.

When asked why he didn't re-raise pre-flop, Kanit replied, "I 4-bet kings, ace-five, ace-four. Stop. Queens, I trap!"

Zimbler Drags A Pot

Level 11 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

We join the action just in time to see Paul Zimbler move all-in over Niall Farrell's open, with the player next to act committing her remaining 345,000. Farrell moved out of the way, explaining "I was going to win this pot, but I'll be nice and fold."

It was Zimbler's {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} which was out in front and needing to fade three outs versus his opponent's {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. The {4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{j-Spades} offered no real sweat, but the {k-Clubs} on the turn offered his opponent some flush outs. The {8-Spades} river changed nothing, though, and Zimbler dragged in the pot.

Zimbler, will be most relieved to pick up this pot, as he was complaining earlier of his seat draw. He's situated across the table from Michael Zhang, with Ludovic Geilich and Niall Farrell to his immediate right.

The $5,000,000 Guarantee Has Been Reached!

Level 11 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

The tournament board officially says there are a total of 1,000 entries, meaning that the $5,000,000 guarantee put up by partypoker LIVE has been reached. There is still more than one level remaining of late registration and the number of entries is expected to continue to rise.

Saved by the River

Level 11 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

On a flop reading {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, Mike Leah led out from under the gun for 80,000 into a pot of around 150,000. Eric Afriat was his only opponent and made the call from late position.

The {2-Clubs} fell on the turn and Leah bet 200,000, which Afriat instantly called. The river brought the {k-Hearts} and Leah fired another 525,000. Afriat thought for a moment but elected to send his cards to the muck.

"That was a bad river," Afriat said.

"It saved one of us. It might have been you, it might have been me," Leah responded. He then proceeded to tell Afriat he flopped top set, correctly guessing the exact queen Afriat was holding.

Bohn Brings It In

Level 11 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Action folded around to Tim Chung in the cutoff, who opened with a raise to 75,000, picking up Blake Bohn on the button, with the player in the small blind coming along to make it a three-way encounter.

The small blind and Chung both checked the {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop, with Bohn taking the opportunity to put in a bet of 100,000. After the player in the small blind moved out of the way, Chung made the call and the two players took a {4-Hearts} turn. Both players checked, before the {2-Clubs} came down on the river. Chung picked up some change and threw out 275,000, picking up an instant call.

Chung rolled over {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, but was no good as Bohn showed {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} to take the pot.

Papazian Forced to Re-Enter

Level 11 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

The action folded around to Sergio Aido who raised to 65,000 from the cutoff. The button called and Alexandru Papazian pushed all in for 960,000 from the small blind. Aido called and the button folded.

Sergio Aido: {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Alexandru Papazian: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran out {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and Aido ace-nine high was just enough to send Papazian to the registration desk to re-enter.
