Kabrhel Takes from De Meulder

Level 2 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Matthias de Meulder raised to 8,000 in the last hand of the previous level and the player on the button called. Martin Kabrhel in the small blind three-bet and De Meulder four-bet to 85,000. That forced out the button, but Kabrhel called. Both players checked the {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop and De Meulder also checked the {9-Spades} turn. A bet of Kabrhel ended the hand right there and he bumped his stack up to more than a million.

Jonathan Wong With Aces

Level 2 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Four players went to a flop of {k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and Jonathan Wong led the betting for 30,000 and then faced a raise from one player to 75,000 as the other two folded. Wong called the raise.

The turn was the {j-Spades} and a check from Wong saw his opponent check behind. The river was the {3-Spades} and Wong bet 100,000 and his opponent called.

Wong showed {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and his opponent checked his cards several times before they went in the muck.

Lukac; Nguyen and van Wesemael Join

Level 2 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Grzegorz Idziak was the first player to bust and Gerald Karlic will need a miracle, as he just arrived at his table to see the big blind forfeited with less than 75,000 left behind.

The next three new entries to start with a fresh stack were High Roller runner up Van Tiep Nguyen, Sander van Wesemael and Emil Lukac.

Plan B for Karlic

Level 3 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Gerald Karlic was all in the very next hand from the small blind after a raise by Gerhard Cit and a call by Kadir Uzunoglu. Both called the shove of Karlic and the duo checked the {10-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop. After the {5-Diamonds} turn, Cit bet 55,000 and Uzunoglu called, then Cit checked the {2-Hearts} river.

Uzunoglu bet 300,000 to force a fold and Karlic turned over {K-Clubs}{J-Spades} for king high. Uzunoglu had {Q-Spades}{2-Spades} for a busted flush draw and rivered the deuce to improve and send Karlic packing. The Austrian however does have a stack for Day 2 from yesterday's 1b and will be back as of 3 p.m. local time.

Nguyen Without Showdown

Level 3 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Aidar Kulumbetov is up for the day as he bumped the stack up to 1.2 million and Andrew King doubled up his short stack.

Van Tiep Nguyen faced a raise to 15,000 by Moritz Dietrich from under the gun and one player called. Nguyen on the button raised to 100,000 and that forced everyone out.

Two For the Moritz Dietrich Show

Level 3 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

The flop was {6-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and Moritz Dietrich checked it to his late position opponent who bet 22,000. Dietrich sprang a check-raise to 80,000. His opponent folded and Dietrich showed him {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} flopped two pair.

On the next hand there was a raise to 12,000 from the player under the gun and next to act Dietrich called. That set of a cascade of shrugs and calls as players were priced in.

The flop was {7-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and it was Dietrich who took the betting lead for 40,000. A cascade of shrug-folds followed and Dietrich just showed the one {k-Spades} this time as his grin broadened.

Cit Doubles; King Builds Stack

Level 3 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

"Show the king!" Wolfgang Simperl said while the board was rushed away and the pot shipped to table neighbor Andrew King. The Irishman replied "I would show if I had the king," to which Simperl replied "I had pocket jacks."

While King approaches one million in chips soon after starting with only 340,000, it was Gerhard Cit that broke through the elusive waypoint and help himself above starting stack.

In a battle of the blinds, Cit and the big blind got into a raising war on the {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{A-Hearts} turn. There had been no betting action on the flop before the big blind Cit had check-raised from 80,000 to 220,000 on the turn. The big blind moved all in and Cit called it off for his last 534,000.

"I have a set," the big blind joked and showed a five. Cit replied "Don't do this to me" and turned over his {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} for top pair, while the big blind sheepishly revealed {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for bottom pair only. The {J-Spades} river was a blank and Cit doubled.

Wong is delighted to take the pot at showdown
Wong is delighted to take the pot at showdown

Jonathan Wong raises to 15,000 from the hijack and is called by Artur Artes in the small blind, with the big blind coming along as well. Action is checked around to Wong on a {j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop, and he puts in a single 25,000-value chip as a continuation bet. Artes calls, with the big blind getting out of the way.

They go heads up to the {9-Spades} turn, where Artes checks it over to Wong again. Wong puts in 70,000, which would leave Artes with just a handful of chips left if he were to call. Artes did indeed make the call, with both players quite happy to check the {5-Hearts} river.

Artes looked disparingly at his cards, before revealing the {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a missed combo draw, while Wong was delighted to take the pot at showdown with {4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.
