Aleksandar Tomovic entered the partypoker German Poker Championship Day 1c Turbo halfway through in level four of eight and proceed to blitz through the pack and turn his 1,000,000 starting stack into 4,650,000.

Tomovic first scored a double up when Kadir Uzunoglu five-bet shoved preflop with {8-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Tomovic called with {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}.

In level six Tomovic was involved in a three-way all in holding aces to knock out two more opponents, and just before the final level he was again dealt aces and knocked out another victim who had ace-king.

The last Day 1 began at 12 p.m. and at a final count attracted 56 entries. After eight fast and furious levels 42 players remained and were immediately given their new seat draw.

Some of the other notables who made it through to Day 2 include Martin Kabrhel (2,000,800), Benjamin Benoit (2,519,000) and Jonathan Wong (1,420,000).

They don’t have long to wait before they are in action again as Day 2 begins in just a few minutes at 3 p.m. local time with eight one-hour levels scheduled.

The PokerNews live reporting team will continue to bring you coverage of that as well as the Super High Roller that kicks off at 6 p.m. and is set to host a number of stellar poker names.
