Milan Dunko Finishes on Top of Day 1d at the partypokerLIVE Grand Prix Austria Main Event

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Play has concluded for the day at the €500,000 guaranteed partypoker Grand Prix Austria €115 Main Event in Vienna. That leaves just one more Day 1 to play – a hyper-turbo with 10-minute blind levels starting at 10 a.m. local time – before we shuffle the pack and set up for Day 2 at 2:30 p.m.

A total of 414 entrants came to play the 1 p.m. flight at Montesino Card Casino, with a further 369 turning up for the 7 p.m. flight. Registration closed on the 1030pm hyper-turbo with s whopping 119 runners – almost twice the attendance of last night’s equivalent tournament.

A total of 90 players bagged chips from all of today’s flights combined, bringing the total number of players to have survived the opening days up to 261. On top of the pile as Day 1d came to a close was Milan Dunko, who took through a massive 1,598,000, who marginally betters Aleksandar Lugonjic’s 1,550,000 from a Day 1 on Thursday.

Other players near the top of the Day 1d leaderboard included Afshin Fattahi with 1,483,000, Goran Delic with 1,452,000, and Alexandru Parau with 1,198,000.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be back on the floor from 2 p.m. tomorrow to provide a recap of the final opening day, along with full coverage of Day 2.

Bielich Snatches the Win

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Stefan Bielich
Stefan Bielich

On Table #19 two players were all-in. The player in the cutoff and the player in the small blind.

Small Blind: {A-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Cutoff: {A-Spades}{4-Clubs}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{2-Hearts} to give the player in the small blind the runner-runner flush and eliminate the other player. While he was still stacking his chips, the dealer had already shuffled the deck and dealt him the next hand.

Stefan Bielich, in the under-the-gun position, raised to 42,000 and everyone else folded to the player that was the small blind in the previous hand but was now sitting on the button. He decided to go all-in. The players in the blinds folded and Bielich called.

Stefan Bielich: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Button: {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

The board ran out {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Hearts} - no danger for Bielich and all the hard-earned chips of the player on the button were snatched away from him.

Level 13 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Milan Muck

The player in the cutoff limped but Milan Muck raised to 15,100 from the button. The player in the big blind shoved all in, the player in the cutoff folded. Muck asked for a count and the dealer counted the chips of his opponent out. The other player had gone all-in for 68,400 in total. Muck counted that amount out from his stack and called.

Milan Muck: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Big Blind: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} - Muck hit an ace on the turn and that was more than enough to eliminate the other player.

Jachtmann Goes Hyper

Level 12 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Jan-Peter Jachtmann
Jan-Peter Jachtmann

Jan-Peter Jachtmann walked away from his table but the partypoker Pro was kind enough to tell our live reporting team what happened.

"Someone opened to 6,500, another player called. I was sitting in the small blind with queen-ten of hearts and shoved all-in. The player in the big blind woke up with kings and called. The rest folded. I did hit a queen on the board but nothing else." he said.

As the hyper-turbo just started, we asked him if he was planning to play that one.

"It just started, right?" he asked. We confirmed that fact. "Yeah, I'll buy in for that one now" he said as he walked towards the partypoker registration desk.

Aloric Wins Already

Level 2 : 200/400, 400 ante
Milan Aloric
Milan Aloric

It is a bit unclear what the action was beforehand but there were 4 players involved in a bit of a peculiar hand on Table #26. But what was clear that there was a raise, a three-bet, a four-bet and then a five-bet shove happened. At the start of the betting there were four players involved. By the end, there were two. The player that had five-bet shoved was Milan Aloric, sitting in the hijack and he was called by his opponent in late position.

Milan Aloric: {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Seat 7: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

Everybody at the table looked a bit shocked at what was happening on their table and some gasping could be heard.

The board ran out {2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds} - although Aloric was behind at the start of the hand, he managed to hit his eight on the flop for a pair of eights and the double-up.
