partypoker Chairman Mike Sexton Enjoying the MILLIONS Main Event

Level 3 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

"Let's see here," said Mike Sexton when we inquired after his stack as the first break of the day got underway. "I'm losing about a hundred right now. Down a little bit.

"The very first hand I lost 150,000."

Sexton explained how he defended his small blind with {7-}{5-} and the flop came {7-}{6-}{4-}. Sexton checked and his opponent continued for 8,000. Sexton check-raised to 20,000 and his opponent called.

The turn was another {7-} and Sexton bet 30,000 and his opponent called. The river was the {j-Hearts} and Sexton bet 75,000 and his opponent called again. Sexton tabled his trip sevens but his opponent held {6-}{6-} for a full house.

"I was lucky he didn't raise me on the turn. If he raised me on the river I put him on Jacks."

Day 1A of the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Russia is taking place in the Sochi Casino & Resort, and Sexton says that he is loving the venue.

"It's beautiful. It's a fantastic property. No question about the venue. Very opulent."

And how exactly is his tournament going?

"I have a very quiet table. And if they say anything it's in Russian! So that's the difficult thing here. I like to talk, but if I say anything I don't think anyone one will understand me!"

"It's pretty much a one language country!"

Sexton sits on just under standing stack on the first break of the day.

Small Pot for Nolte

Level 3 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Vytautas Milbutas registered for the Main Event not long ago and was sat on a table with Mikhail Korotkikh, Christian Nolte and Andreas Klatt.

Nolte raised to 13,000 on the button and the big blind called. The flop came {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and the big blind check-called a bet of 8,000 before the {5-Hearts} appeared on the turn. Once checked to Nolte, the German bet 50,000 and that shut down all further action.

Geshkenbein Loses Small Pot

Level 3 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Raul Martinez has sat down on the last table to open and was joined by Vladimir Geshkenbein, who opened the action in the most recent hand. Geshkenbein's raise to 12,000 was called by the small blind and Martinez folded from the big blind.

On the {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop, the small blind check-called a bet by Geshkenbein before the {J-Hearts} turn went check, check. The {7-Hearts} appeared on the river and the small blind made it 35,000 to go. Geshkenbein was not happy about the call but eventually tossed in the chips with a sigh, then quickly mucked when he was shown {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}.

Goldshtein Shows Aggression

Level 3 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

After a raise to 15,000 by the player in under the gun, Robin Hegele called from two seats over. Sergey Lim three-bet to 70,000 in the cutoff and Danil Goldshtein in the small blind elected to four-bet to 180,000. The initial raiser and Hegele quickly folded, while Lim did so after brief consideration.

Since sitting down, Goldshtein has shown plenty of aggression at his table and added half a million in chips to his stack.

Pidun Lets Go

Level 3 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Joining the action on the three-way flop of {Q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}, David Harutyunyan checked from under the gun and Thomer Pidun bet 21,000 on the cutoff. The button folded and Harutyunyan called to see the {K-Diamonds} on the turn and again it was checked to Pidun.

The German made it 46,000 to go and Harutyunyan check-raised to 102,000, which eventually won the pot without showdown as Pidun folded. Despite this minor setback, Pidun is up in chips for the day towards the end of level three.
