Karlic Low on Chips

Level 5 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

After a button open to 35,000, Gerald Karlic made it 115,000 in the small blind. His opponent called and they saw a {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop. Karlic bet 165,000 and they saw the {q-Spades} hit the turn. Both players checked and the river was the {2-Diamonds}. Karlic checked. His opponent bet 378,000.

After thinking only briefly, Karlic called but mucked to {q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for trips.

Altman Bluffs Off to Sotiropoulos

Level 4 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Brian Altman
Brian Altman

Brian Altman put in a check-raise to 85,000 out of the small blind on a flop of {3-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Georgios Sotiropoulos, who had bet from the button, called. On the {k-Clubs} turn, Altman bet 175,000 and Sotiropoulos called. The river was the {6-Clubs} and Altman bet 425,000 after getting a look at his opponent's remaining chips.

Sotiropoulos was in there with a snap-called and his {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} easily bested {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, bringing a nod from Altman.

Angelou-Konstas Coolers Fernandez

Level 4 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

In what looked to be a reraised pot with about 270,000 in the middle, two players checked to Pablo Fernandez, who bet 125,000 on {10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. Ioannis Angelou-Konstas called in the small blind and the third player mucked. On the {7-Spades} turn, Angelou-Konstas checked. Fernandez thought about 30 seconds then jammed for 453,000 effective.

That was met with a snap-called as Angelou-Konstas had the {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for top set. Fernandez could only shake his head and show {k-Spades}{10-Spades}, dead to the {9-Diamonds} river.

Ausmus' Top-Top Holds

Level 3 : 3,000/7,000, 7,000 ante

Jeremy Ausmus was under the gun and bet 25,000 into three opponents on {q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and it stayed four-handed to the {6-Hearts} turn. Ausmus bet 60,000 now, and only a player in middle position called. The {7-Diamonds} brought a four-straight and two checks, and Ausmus opened {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} to take it down.

Altman in an Early Rut

Level 2 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Brian Altman made a small bet of 67,000 into a pot of about 250,000 with {4-Spades}{8-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} on the felt. His opponent in the big blind came out with a small check-raise to 151,000 and Altman thought awhile then called. On the {5-Hearts} river, the big blind bet 307,000 and Altman called after about 30 seconds but couldn't beat {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} for top set.
