Strelitz Ships Some to Altman as Field Surpasses 100 Early

Level 1 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

In a pot that saw a raise to 75,000 preflop from big blind Brian Altman, Daniel Strelitz went with him from middle position heads up to {4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. Altman bet 50,000 and Strelitz continued to the {7-Hearts}. This time, Altman won it with a barrel of 200,000.

Altman lost a couple of shells on Day 1b but that's clearly not stopping him from coming out with trademark fearless play.

The field has surpassed 125 runners as Level 2 closes in here in short order.

Welcome to Day 1c of Caribbean Poker Party $5,300 Main Event

Baha Mar
Baha Mar

The sweat is one for the partypoker team as Day 1c of the 2018 Caribbean Poker Party $5,300 Main Event has arrived.

It's not the final sweat, but it is the last of three starting flights with a monstrous $10 million guarantee yet to be met. The field needs 2,000 runners to make the guarantee and is just north of 500 at the dawning of the third starting flight, although Day 2 registration will remain open for several hours.

Thus far, about 300 players have found bags, with the heftiest of those checking in around the 4 million mark. Francois Billard, Eric Afriat, Ami Alibay, Jason Thompkins and partypoker pro Joao Simao are some of the players hovering in the 4 million range.

As with the first two starting days, Day 1c will see players sit down with 1 million in chips at 2,000/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante. Levels will last an hour apiece and eight of them are on the docket, with a 90-minute dinner break scheduled after the sixth level. Play ends after 8,000/16,000/16,000. Each player is permitted one reentry for the day, although they may still take more shots on Day 2.

Stay with PokerNews here at Baha Mar as we keep tabs on the third and final starting flight of this marquee event, bringing you the partypoker-style overview coverage of the tournament proceedings throughout the day.
