If there is one player to watch out for despite starting a day with a short stack, it is Adrian Mateos. The Spaniard has already claimed three WSOP bracelets, an EPT Main Event title and High Roller trophies to his name, and started the day with a mere 15 big blinds. However, Mateos now appears to be near the top of the counts after just four hours of play on Day 3.

Mateos raised to 1.1 million and Christopher Andler three-bet all in for 7.9 million. Mateos asked for a count and called after brief consideration.

Christopher Andler: {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Adrian Mateos: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}

The board of {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} kept the better pocket pair in the lead to ship the pot to the Spaniard.

Shortly after Jason Wheeler was all in and at risk for around 7.6 million out of the small blind and Mateos looked him up from the big blind.

Jason Wheeler: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Adrian Mateos: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}

The {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop gave Wheeler additional outs to double, but the {2-Spades} turn and {9-Hearts} river were both blanks to see Mateos bust a second player in quick succession.
