Cheong Snaps Off Laplante

Level 14 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Ryan Laplante opened to 160,000 from under the gun and was called by the player directly to his left, Joseph Cheong in middle position, and the big blind. The flop fell {q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and the big blind checked to Laplante who bet 400,000. Cheong was the only player to call and the {j-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Laplante shoved all in for 1,560,000 and Cheong instantly made the call. Laplante tabled {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and Cheong showed {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for two pair. The river was the {2-Diamonds} and Cheong held on to eliminate Laplante.

Lee Hits the Flop Harder than Farrell

Level 14 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Jimmy Lee raised it up from under the gun and Niall Farrell defended from the big blind. The flop came {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Farrell checked to Lee who continued for 150,000. Farrell check-raised to 550,000 only to have Lee re-raise to 1,150,000. Farrell thought for a moment and then shoved all in for 3,295,000. Lee asked for a count and then quickly made the call.

Jimmy Lee: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Niall Farrell: {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Farrell flopped two pair but was drawing nearly dead against Lee's top set. The {8-Hearts} on the turn gave Farrell some chop outs, but the {2-Diamonds} on the river secured the win for Lee as he eliminated Farrell.

Big Call for Bicknell

Level 15 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

On a flop reading {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades} with over 1,000,000 in the pot already, Seth Davies led out from the small blind for 350,000. Kristen Bicknell called from middle position and the {8-Spades} landed on the turn.

Davies fired another 950,000 and Bicknell still called to see the {5-Hearts} on the river. Davies thought for a moment before shoving all in, putting Bicknell to the test for her last 1,370,000 chips. Bicknell thought, and she thought, and she thought some more. She was in the tank for well over five minutes until the clock was eventually called. Once the floorman arrived at the table, Bicknell made the call. Davies flipped over {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} while Bicknell tabled {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} to drag in the pot.

Duhamel Doubles Against Kings

Level 15 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Jonathan Duhamel was sitting with a stack slightly above starting and got all of it in the middle holding {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}. Unfortunately, he ran into the {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} of his opponent.

The dealer fanned the flop of {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and not only did Duhamel pair his ace, he picked up the nut flush draw as well. The turn was the {8-Hearts} and the river landed the {8-Spades}. Duhamel found a way to double up but still remains well under the average stack.

Last Level of the Night

Level 16 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

With players continuing to be eliminated at a rapid pace today, the tournament director has decided to stop play after this level. It is unsure as to whether the players bagging chips at the end of the day will be in the money or not, depending on how many new entries there are for Day 2B tomorrow.

Savard Wins a Small Pot

Level 16 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Karim Chatur raised to 250,000 from middle position and Jean-Pascal Savard called from the big blind. The flop fell {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades} and Savard check-called a bet of 280,000 from Chatur.

The {6-Clubs} paired the board on the turn and both players checked to the {a-Hearts} on the river. Savard led out for 770,000 and Chatur quickly mucked his cards. Savard comes into the event as the defending champion, having won over $1,000,000 in the 2017 partypoker MILLIONS North America Main Event.

Level 16 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

The action folded around to Ema Zajmovic on the button who raised it up to 250,000. The small blind counted his chips and then ripped all in for 3,580,000. With the action back on Zajmovic, she quickly made the call and the two players were racing.

Zajmovic turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and was up against her opponent's {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. The flop came {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Zajmovic took the lead with two pair. The turn was the {10-Spades} and the river was the {q-Clubs} as Zajmovic improved to a full house and eliminated her opponent.
