The partypoker MILLIONS North America $25,500 Super High Roller has reached an end and it was Canada's own Christopher Kruk coming out victorious. Kruk defeated fellow high-roller competitor, Anthony Zinno, in heads-up play to take home the first-place prize of $375,000.

Kruk is mostly known for his online poker skills but has recently transitioned his game into the live high roller events. His first breakthrough came earlier this year at the PCA where he cashed in both of the $25,000 events, winning one of them for $836,350. This will go down as Kruk's second largest live tournament win and his first on home soil in Canada.

Day 2 began with 15 players returning to their seats after two-thirds of the field was eliminated on Day 1. Darren Elias led the charge for the second time this series and was hoping to work his way into the money this time. The short stacks fell by the wayside early on and the unofficial final table was reached not long after the first break of the day.

With only seven places getting paid and a $60,000 money bubble jump, some would think the action would have tightened up a bit. However, after partypoker Ambaassador Joao Simao busted his short stack, Viktor Blom ran a triple-barrel bluff to no avail. Maybe a little bit tilted after that hand, Blom then called off the rest of his stack on the river with a straight but was ousted by Chance Kornuth's flush.

Final Table Summary

That left the final seven all guaranteed to walk away with a payday, the only thing left to decide was just how much. John Krpan, the only player to consider himself a pro, was on the short stack and found himself all in for seven big blind and flipping against Niall Farrell. Farrell hit his pair on the turn, eliminating Krpan in seventh place. Shortly after, Victor Ramdin also wound up all in and flipping against Kornuth. Ramdin held ace-king against Kornuth's pocket tens, but was unable to connect with the board and exited in sixth place.

The remaining five players continued without an elimination for a couple of hours until Farrell became the short stack. Farrell had just lost a big all in with ace-king against Zinno's pocket kings, and was forced to get the rest of his chips in the middle with just ace-high a couple of hands later. Kornuth made the call with a pocket pair and held on to eliminate Farrell. Kornuth continued to play a wide variety of hands and his chip stack bounced up and down the leaderboard. After a bluff gone wrong, Kornuth was down to 12 big blinds and moved all in with a couple of broadway cards. Kruk called from the small blind with ace-high and that was all he needed to eliminate Kornuth.

Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth finished in 4th place (C$125,000)

It wasn't long after that Elias, who remained fairly quiet on the final table and was enjoying the ladder ups, found himself on the hot seat. It was a four-bet jam from Elias with pocket tens that was called by Zinno with ace-queen. Zinno paired his queen on the flop and Elias was unable to catch any cards to stay alive. That left the final two players to enter heads-up play with relatively even stacks.

The blind levels were reduced to 20-minutes for heads-up play which forced the action to move along quickly. Neither player was able to take a real advantage until all of the chips suddenly entered the pot before the flop. Zinno opened on the button with pocket sevens and Kruk shoved all in with ace-five suited. Zinno made the call and was at risk for his tournament life. It was a safe flop for Zinno but when the board double-paired on the turn and river, Zinno's pair of sevens was counterfeit, allowing Kruk's ace-high to take down the pot and win the tournament.

That wraps up the coverage from the $25,500 Super High Roller at the Playground Poker Club, but the PokerNews live reporting team will be here to bring you all of the live updates throughout the $5,300 Main Event beginning tomorrow.

Anthony Zinno opened to 1,500,000 on the button with {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Christopher Kruk shoved all in from the big blind holding {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. Zinno made the call and was the player at risk for 20,725,000.

The flop came {q-Spades}{j-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Zinno was still in control with a pair of sevens. The turn brought the {q-Clubs} giving Kruk some outs to counterfeit Zinno's pair. The {j-Diamonds} on the river double-paired the board and Kruk's ace-high came into play. Zinno was left stunned in his seat and will go home in second place.

Christopher Kruk raised it up to 600,000 on the button with {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Chance Kornuth called from the big blind with {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Kornuth check-called a bet of 375,000 from Kruk.

Just a few hands later, Kornuth moved all in for 3,950,000 with {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} from under the gun. Kruk looked down at the {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} in the small blind and made the call.

Niall Farrell

Anthony Zinno raised it up to 550,000 with {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} from under the gun and Niall Farrell picked up the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} in the small blind. Farrell shoved all in and Zinno quickly called for his last 3,950,000.

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Zinno's pair of kings earned him a double through Farrell.

Just a couple of hands later, Farrell shoved all in for 1,750,000 in the cutoff with {a-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Chance Kornuth called on the button with {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Farrell's tournament life was in jeopardy.

The two players had a laugh before the cards were dealt but it was the board of {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{6-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds} that would put an end to Farrell's tournament.

Victor Ramdin shoved all in for 2,305,000 from under the gun with {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and the action folded around to Chance Kornuth in the big blind. Kornuth looked down at the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and asked for a count before making the call.

It was a coin flip for chip stacks with Ramdin being the player at risk. The flop came {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Kornuth was still ahead with his overpair. The {3-Spades} on the turn and the {2-Diamonds} on the river were of no help to Ramdin as he became the sixth place finisher.

Chance Kornuth opened to 225,000 from the cutoff with {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Viktor Blom defended his big blind with {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}. The flop fell {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, giving both players really strong hands. Blom checked to Kornuth who continued for 200,000 and Blom quickly called.

Sean Winter

Outer Table:

Christopher Kruk raised to 200,000 from the cutoff and Sean Winter called from the big blind. The flop came {9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Winter checked to Kruk who continued for 100,000. Winter check-raised to 325,000 and Kruk shoved all in. Winter called off his last 1,600,000 and the cards were tabled.

Kruk tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Winter reluctantly turned over {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. The turn was the {6-Clubs} and the river brought the {10-Spades}, giving Kruk a full house and eliminating Winter. That means the final nine players will now redraw for seats at the unofficial final table. PokerNews will continue their coverage from the live stream on a 30-minute delay.

Stacked Lineup Returns for Day 2 of partypoker MILLIONS North America $25,500 Super High Roller

Vikto Blom
Vikto Blom

It will be a who's who when the final 15 players return for Day 2 of the partypoker MILLIONS North America $25,500 Super High Roller. The action is slated to kick off at 12:00 PM EST at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal, Canada. An unfamiliar face at a live poker table is sitting near the top of the leaderboard in the name of Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom.

Blom is mostly known for playing in the nosebleed online cash games, winning or losing millions of dollars, but has made an appearance on the felt this week in Montreal. Blom made the final table of the $10,300 High Roller earlier in the series, and will now be looking to go back-to-back in the Super High Roller. The Swede currently sits second in chips with 6,755,000, not far behind Darren Elias who is leading once again with 8,815,000.

Some other names to keep an eye out for include Kevin Hobbs (4,450,000) who is also looking for his second cash of the festival, Sean Winter (3,800,000) who is a regular on the high-stakes tournament scene, and Niall Farrell (2,735,000) who will surely have a drink in his hand at some point today. With just seven players making the money, it will be a dash for the cash when the action gets underway. A min-cash will be worth $60,000 while the winner will be pocketing themselves a cool $325,000.

The blinds will continue on level 13 at 35,000/70,000 with a 70,000 button ante. The button ante seems to keep the action moving quickly so the pace of play should be rather fast. The blind levels will still be 40-minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every three levels. There will be a table redraw when the unofficial final table is reached at nine players. The PokerNews coverage will be in sync with the live stream on a 30-minute delay when the final table begins.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be here to bring you all of the live updates from the tournament floor.
