Anatoly Filatov and Ryan Mandara have rejoined the action and on their second Day 1d bullet.

Gomes Hits Nut Flush; Waters Exits

Level 8 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

The completed board was down {q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{10-Spades}, and Alexandre Gomes was all in from middle position and heads-up against Tom Waters in the big blind.

Waters had Gomes covered by 250,000, so an incorrect call would leave him short. After some thought Waters made the call and saw the bad news, when Gomes flipped over {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the nut flush, and Waters was made to show {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for the second nut flush.

With his stack at 250,000, Waters was all in in the very next hand with {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and up against his opponent's {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. The {5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop put Waters in the lead and the {6-Hearts} turn kept it that way. But when the river was revealed to be the {k-Hearts}, partypoker managing director Waters saw the pot stole from his grasp and was eliminated from Day 1d in cruel fashion.

Queely Cracks Aces

Level 7 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

The board was down {3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, and Jermaine Queely was all in. Marc Sloan had him covered but would need to sacrifice a big chunk of his stack.

Sloan ultimately called, and Queely tabled {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for a set. Sloan kept his cards close to himself before revealing {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} for the overpair to the board. Queely raked in the pot to move up to 2.6m and Sloan was left with 500,000.

Afriat Hits Quad Aces; Filatov Eliminated

Level 7 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Eric Afriat and Anatoly Filatov got all their chips into the middle preflop with the latter the player at risk of elimination.

Eric Afriat: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Anatoly Filatov: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Board: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

Afriat took a huge lead on the flop when he hit top set, but Filatov was given some hope when he also hit a set on the turn. Filatov needed the case ten to survive, but instead, it was the case ace that appeared and gave Afriat quads to seal the pot and the Russian's elimination.
