MILLIONS Champions Filatov and Lampropulos Tussle

Level 17 : 70,000/140,000, 140,000 ante

The flop was down {5-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs} and Anatoly Filatov in the small blind bet 300,000 which Maria Lampropulos called in the big blind. The turn card was the {k-Hearts}, and Filatov bet again, this time for 900,000. Lampropulos called once more, and when the river card was revealed to be the {a-Clubs}, Filatov bet 5.5m and enough to put Lampropulos all in.

The Argentine, who won the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS UK Main Event last year for £1,000,000, thought for all her 30 seconds before folding with one second remaining. Filatov, who himself picked up a MILLIONS Main Event title just last month in Sochi, took down the pot and won the battle of the champions this time.

Stanway and Fara Eliminated

Level 18 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Daniel Stanway and Tomas Fara have just fallen victim to hand-for-hand play.

In the first hand, Stanway moved all in from the cutoff and was called by Daniel James in the big blind.

Stanway held pocket jacks and was ahead versus James' {a-Spades}{8-Spades}. But the {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop put James in front, and he held as the board completed to eliminate Stanway in 123rd position.

In the next round of hands, Tomas Fara was at risk in the big blind on an {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{j-Spades} flop. Fara held top two pair with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and had got ahead of his opponent's {a-}{q-}. The turn kept Fara in the lead, and he was all set for a double up before the river {q-Spades} hit one of his opponent's outs as the table gasp Fara was eliminated in 122nd place.
