Day 1a of the 2019 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Europe Main Event Starts at Noon

The €10,300 Main Event is upon us at the 2019 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Europe in the beautiful King's Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. There have been a few days of high stakes action but the tournament with the biggest guaranteed prize pool on the schedule is the Main Event with an incredible €5,000,000 guaranteed.

The tournament will feature 60-minute levels. Players will start with 1,000,000 in chips and have 200 big blinds in the first level. The plan is to play eight one-hour levels on the first day with breaks every two levels and to play down to the money on the second day. This tournament has had an online Day 1+2 and the players who made it through to Day 3 on the partypoker client will join the field here on the third day when everybody is in the money.

One of the players that used the option to play the first two days of the tournament online and made it through to the third day is Dara O'Kearney. He battled some of the toughest competition to already make it into the money.

The last partypoker LIVE MILLIONS event was held in the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. That $10,300 tournament attracted a field of 536 players, generating a prize pool of $5,360,000. Tom Marchese won the tournament for $1,000,000. A field of roughly the same size is expected in Rozvadov with the guaranteed prize pool of €5,000,000.

PokerNews will be on the tournament floor to provide updates from the first day of play until the winner is crowned on Sunday.

Shuffle Up and Deal

Level 1 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Cards are in the air for the first day of many in the €10,300 Main Event of the 2019 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Europe Main Event. Late registration is still open until the end of the first break on Day 2 of the tournament so there is plenty of time left to register for the event that guarantees €5,000,000 in prize money.

Bad Start for Simunic

Level 1 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Josip Simunic is part of the partypoker pro team but that didn't help him early on Day 1a. Simunic saw the {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts} board when it was checked to him with about 250,000 in the pot.

Simunic fired a bet of 135,000 from the button and his opponent in the under-the-gun position had to use a time bank card before he called.

Simunic opened up {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} but that wasn't enough to win when his opponent showed {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}.

Satellite Winner Hu Enters

Level 1 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

David Hu won a satellite for this particular event and he just hopped in. He still had a 200 big blind stack with the 1,000,000 chips he got and blinds at 2,000/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante.

The total number of entries is already up to 92 halfway through the first level of the day.

Koleno and Hammerl Check it Down

Level 2 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Stanislav Koleno sat on the button when it folded to him and he raised to 15,000. Joel Gonzalo folded in the small blind but big blind Thomas Hammerl called to see the {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop.

They both checked to see the {q-Spades} on the turn and they checked again to see the {2-Spades} on the river. The deuce on the river didn't induce any action as both checked for the third time in a row and the pot was pushed to Koleno who showed {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.
