Rivest Recovers Some Chips

Kevin Rivest was building up a stack in the early going but took a big hit just prior to the last break. However, he got things back on track with a key double up. There was a raise to 25,000 from middle position and Rivest called from the small blind.

The flop fell {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {2-Spades} on the turn. Rivest checked again and his opponent bet 40,000. Rivest check-raised to 175,000 and his opponent quickly called.

The river was the {4-Spades} and Rivest moved all in for 538,000. His opponent snap-called and Rivest turned over {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for a set of deuces. His opponent showed {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} but was forced to send over a double up to Rivest.

From the button, Kliment Tarmakov three-bet to 70,000, and after the blinds folded, Khun called.

The flop landed {4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Khun checked. Tarmakov bet 45,000, and Khun folded.
