The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the floor to provide all the action from the tables until a champion is crowned on Sunday, April 15th 2018, and at least three players will walk away with a seven-figure payday.
Right after sitting down, Said El Yousfi was eliminated in the second hand he played, as confirmed by Chris Dowling. The Irishman even snapped a picture and it all went in after a betting war on the flop of . There was a four-bet preflop and El Yousfi got it in with for top pair and the nut flush draw.
His sole opponent, Roberto Duek, had four-bet clicked on the flop and looked him up with . The turn and river completed the board and El Yousfi was gone, the screens now show 113 out of 114 players remaining.
Rasmus Vogt ahas been eliminated for the second time on flight 1d and won't be able to re-enter as per the single re-entry rule for each starting day. His bustout came as a result of a clash with table neighbor Roberto Duek, who has moved back to more than two starting stacks.
Rasmus Vogt:
Roberto Duek:
"We need a nine," Vogt said after the turn, but the wish of the Dane wasn't granted with a blank on the river. Slowly but surely, the remaining field of the fina €10,300 Main Event flight is being reduced with 210 out of 252 players remaining.
Christopher Andler raised to 55,000 first to act and Ka Him Li shoved for 325,000. Anton Suarez shoved for 620,000 and Michele di Lauro called all in for 130,000 in the cutoff. Action folded back to Andler, who asked for the biggest stack size before sighing. "How many players can be all in in one hand?" the Swede asked, then called.
Michele di Lauro:
Ka Him Li:
Anton Suarez:
Christopher Andler:
Andler had the best of it and was still on track for a triple knockout on the flop. However, the turn and river completed the board and just di Lauro was caught in the crossfire.
The completed board showed and there were 550,000 in the middle. Jack Salter bet 375,000 and Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi moved all in with the superior stack.
"I guess you could have queens. Do you have queens?" Salter asked in table chat, but received no reply. After short consideration, Salter shrugged and tossed in his chips for the call.
Mizrachi turned over his for trips tens and said "I guess you have better," which Salter indeed had beat with for the straight. The double of the Brit was for 1.43 million, leaving Mizrachi with some small change.
Claudio di Giacomo raised to 80,000 from under the gun and was called by big stack Kenneth Smaron from one seat over. Pavel Plesuv moved all in for 570,000 from the hijack and di Giacomo squeezed to 1.0 million in order to force a quick fold from Smaron.
Pavel Plesuv:
Claudio di Giacomo:
The flop gave the Italian top set and that remained the case throughout the turn and river. "I had ace queen," Smaron said in table chat.
On the three-way flop of , Farid Jattin escalated the action against Jussi Nevanlinna and Bryan Ruiter. Nevanlinna had bet 150,000 and Jattin called before Ruiter check-raised to 450,000. That forced a quick fold from Nevanlinna, but Jattin had other plans and moved all in for two million. Ruiter eventually called and was shown , while tabling his for the overpair.
The turn gave Jattin two pair, but the river restored the preflop and flop order as Ruiter improved to a flush. Jattin was already on his way out, but didn't have Ruiter covered to get called back to the table. It wouldn't take long for Jattin's remaining 450,000 to get in the middle and partypoker ambassador Sam Trickett looked him up.
Farid Jattin:

This time the board came and again the hearts flush bested Jattin to finish off what had started in the previous hand.
By the time the registration for Day 1c had closed and level four was underway for Day 1d, it was clear that the ambitious guaranteed prize pool of €10,000,000 for the 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Grand Final Barcelona €10,300 Main Event was surpassed. What followed was the confirmation of Casino Barcelona as one of the hotbeds of tournament poker in Europe, and the fourth and final starting day closed with 304 entries to boost the field to 1,175 entries in total. This has created a prize pool of €11,397,500 and the payouts will be announced when play for Day 2 gets back underway as of 1 p.m. local time on Friday, April 13th, 2018.
After 12 levels of play on Day 1d, only 86 players bagged up chips and a very familiar face of the international poker circuit claimed the overnight spotlight in Anthony Zinno. The American poker pro advanced with 8,95 million, while fellow countryman Kenneth Smaron follows not far behind with 8.525 million, narrowly ahead of Marco Fontanella (8.48 million), Teun Meulder (8.37 million) and Zhong Chen (8.285 million).
Sam Trickett advanced with very healthy 7.8 million and Dominik Nitsche turned his fifth bullet into 7.275 million. Besides Trickett, partypoker sponsored pro Roberto Romanello (3.6 million) also made it through while team online's Renato Nomura and Dayane Kotoviezy, Jason Koon and Joni Jouhkimainen were not fortunate enough to advance.
A plethora of well-known names of the international poker circuit took to the tables and same of those that were sent to the rail throughout Day 1d included Reiner Kempe, Steve O'Dwyer, Bryn Kenney, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, Chino Rheem, Dario Sammartino, Jake Cody, Chris Moorman, William Kassouf, Felipe Ramos, €1,100 Open Event champion Ludovic Geilich and Michael Gathy. Said El Yousfi only played two hands after sitting down and busted with top pair and the nut flush draw against Roberto Duek's ace-queen suited for top pair.
The early eliminations weren't quite pouring in, especially compared to the consistent flow of new entries that emerged in the first nine levels. Only in the last third of the day the chips went flying and the pots became significantly bigger.
Jack Salter's turned straight was good enough to beat the trips tens of Michael Mizrachi and "The Grinder" bowed out after a roller coaster day. Pavel Plesuv was all in and at risk with pocket kings but failed to hold up against pocket jacks and a risky move by Farid Jattin all but paid off if it wasn't for running hearts in back-to-back hands with Bryan Ruiter and partypoker ambassador Sam Trickett.
In the last two levels of the night, three-way or even four-way all in showdowns were not unusual and Zinno claimed the top spot after taking revenge on Carlo Alteri. The Canadian had first doubled with pocket aces for the overpair against top pair, before a squeeze with top pair only saw Zinno snap-call with bottom set to gain back the chips with fees on top.
With all four starting days now complete, the remaining field stands at 329 hopefuls out of 1,175 entries. When returning to the tables for Day 2, the blinds will recommence at 35,000/70,000 in level 13 and as of Day 2, the level duration increases to 60 minutes each. At least eight levels are scheuled, and depending on the progress and bubble period this may be subject to change. As usual, the PokerNews live reporting team will be there to provide all the action from the floor.
