Less than Half the Field Remain in High Roller Knockout Weekender Day 1C

With 28 players already through to Day 2 of the High Roller Knockout Weekender, it's the last change for players to advance in this $500,000 GTD tournament.

With 62 players from a field of 159 in Day 1C, Patrick Leonard is still going strong and is situated in the top 10. However, not so good news for Kristen Bicknell, Dzmitry Urbanovich and Joao Simao who have all been eliminated.

With 15% of the Day 1C field advancing, it appears like the tournament will have to play down to 24 players before the fields combine for Day 2.

First Break of the Day

Plenty of action is still ongoing, with the next major event starting in an hour. The High Roller One Shot is a $200,000 guaranteed KO tournament that starts at 18:05 (BST). With a $1,111 buy-in there are already 14 players registered including Kristen Bicknell.

Jaime Staples Going Well in the Big Game

partypoker's Jaime Staples just picked off a bluff in the Big Game to move into the top ten chip stacks.

Holding {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades} on a {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} board, his opponent shoved the river and Staples called. His opponent showed {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for ten-high and Staples sent him to the rail, moving above 2.2 million in chips.

Remember, Jaime is streaming over on Twitch.tv/pokerstaples - why not go and check him out!

Bicknell Battling in the High Roller Big Game

Kristen Bicknell had dropped towards the bottom of the leaderboard as the first level of the High Roller Big Game draws to a close. From a starting stack of one million chips she sat with just over 300,000.

However, after picking up aces against Samuel Howse she immediately doubled back to over 600,000.

Other short stacks in the tournament are Erwin Wichers, Vicent Bosca Ramon and the aforementioned Howse.
