WPT Grand is now closed to entry, and they ended with a total of 289 entries in the game. That wasn't quite enough to hit the $300,000 guarantee, but the $289,708 was barely $10,000 off the mark. With more than $14,000 collected in fees for the game, there's enough in the pot to cover the overlay.

The final tally for WPT Super $55 was 2,561 entries, putting the final prize pool at $128,050. There are 1,308 players left in action fighting for a piece of that prize pool, and 399 will share in it.

Formula 1 Driver Daniel Ricciardo Knows When to Pit

McLaren Racing
McLaren Racing

McLaren Racing driver Daniel Ricciardo knows what it's like to operate at peak performance. Both he and his car need to operate at the outer limits of their ability on race day to stand a chance of winning, or even making it to the end of the race. But he also understands that being at your peak means being in control.

At the poker tables, players don't need to worry about spinning off the track into the wall from a momentary lapse of concentration, or a tire blowout at 200 kph because they didn't pull into the pits. But every poker player has experienced some proverbial version of those when they lose control and don't know when to take a break to fix the machinery.

"Only when we're in control are we in charge of our own race," Ricciardo said in a recent video. "It's sometimes important to hold back, take a break and take stock. It's important to know when it's time to pit."

Gambling and Auto-racing have a lot in common as McLaren Driver Ricciardo explains

Day 1a of the WPT WOC Main Event, which guarantees $5 million, is barely two levels old, and already it has collected more than a quarter of the huge guarantee. Total entries are now up 260 with action in Level 2 and more than 3 hours left to get into the first flight of this massive game.

The 260 entries have pushed the collected money to$1.3 million already, and at this rate, the event seems certain to hit the guarantee overall.

The WPT Super $215 just closed the registration desk, ending the entries at 534 total. There are still 275 left in action, but the starting field pushed the prize pool to $106,800, cracking the guarantee by almost 7%.

Registration is still open on all the other events, but the WPT Super $55 is just a hair away from the guarantee with about an hour to go, while WPT Grand needs another $65,000 to make $300,0000. WPT Weekender Final Day was just shy of its $150,000, with $145,300 collected, but Day 1a of the Main Event is already closing in on 25% of the $5 million guarantee with action still in Level 1.

Stay tuned through the day for all the partypoker Sunday LIVE action from the tables, and from Twitter.
