Side events are taking place every day during the partypoker LIVE MILLION Germany poker festival. One that just kicked off is a little smaller than the others, at least as far as buy-in is concerned with the Local King's Championship just costing a €90 buy-in. The field is expected to be big in this tournament as well thanks to the advertised €30,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Starting earlier today was Day 1a and Day 1b of the €150 King's Monster Stack, featuring a mouth-watering €100,000 guaranteed prize pool. A turbo Day 1c will take place tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. local time. All players bagging chips will play until a winner is crowned on Day 2 kicking off tomorrow at 2 p.m.
A very heated argument just took place at table #121 and effectively stopped play for more than 15 minutes. On a board of ![]()

, a player had fired out 13,000 into a pot of 24,000, and Xenos Quintin Schirmer had rather quickly made the call.
The aggressor had turned over ![]()

At least one of the players at the table had pointed out that Schirmer's top two pair were still good for the pot, and that had lead to quite a stalemate, where Schirmer argued he did show down his hand while his opponent argued it was mucked.
Ultimately tournament director Christian Scalzi was summoned, and after conferring with the players, dealer and some colleagues in the tournament staff the hand was ruled live. Schirmer was awarded the pot, and though Scalzi and his team could finally move on and play resumed at the table, so did the argument.

The second 15-minute break just began. After play resumes, players will need to wait for four levels instead of three for the final break of the day. The wait should be worth it as it will be a longer dinner break and coincide with around the same time the VIP party starts.

The field has grown to 336 entrants, of which 59 were sent to the rails. Including the first five opening days, the Main Event has thus far attracted 627 entrants or 373 entrants shy of the 1,000 needed to meet the €1 million guarantee.
