Duthie Triples Up

Duthie Triples Up

The pot in the middle contained 115,000 already when John Duthie was all-in from the early position and was called by David Payne in the small blind and Andrew Koprnicky in the under-the-gun position when the board read {6-Spades}{q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}.

The river completed the board with the {6-Hearts} and both Payne and Koprnicky both checked for all the cards to go on their backs. Payne tabled the {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} while Koprnicky showed the {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for the higher two pair but Duthie held the {4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for the turned straight and triple-up.

Two Double Ups for Eibinger

Level 2 : 3,000/6,000, 750 ante

Matthias Eibinger was left short and then scored a first double through Rok Gostisa when he turned a straight with the {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} out of the big blind. Gostisa had bet the {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop and called the jam on the {5-Diamonds} turn with the {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, which made the {j-Hearts} river meaningless.

Gostisa then raised to 15,000 and called a three-bet jam by Eibinger for more than 150,000.

Matthias Eibinger: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Rok Gostisa: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{k-Spades} and Eibinger doubled once more. He then won another pot to nearly reach half the starting stack.

The next partypoker ambassador to enter the fray on Day 1a is Team Online's Jaime Staples. He was immediately involved in the action and called a raise to 14,820 by Samuli Sipila while on the button. Both players in the blinds including Dominykas Mikolaitis came along and the flop of {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} was checked to Sipila.

A continuation bet for 30,974 by Sipila followed and Staples was the only caller. On the {6-Hearts} turn, Sipila checked and a bet worth 66,000 by Staples earned the pot.

Vecino Chips Up Without Showdown

Level 2 : 3,000/6,000, 750 ante

For partypoker ambassador Joao Simao, nothing much has happened on a table filled with notables.

One of them is Spanish pro Juan Carlos Vecino, who just won a pot against Aleksandr Nosov. They had already made it to the {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{k-Spades}{a-Diamonds} river with 330,000 in the middle. Nosov checked and Vecino bet 249,000 to force a reluctant fold from his opponent.

Staples Takes From Sipila Once More

Level 2 : 3,000/6,000, 750 ante

In a preflop raising war, Samuli Sipila four-bet to 157,860 in the cutoff and Jaime Staples came along out of the small blind. They checked the {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop and Staples led the {6-Hearts} turn for 156,000, which Sipila called.

Both checked the {a-Hearts} on the river and Staples' {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} was good enough to earn the pot.

Koon Wins a Small Pot

Level 2 : 3,000/6,000, 750 ante

The start into Day 1a hasn't been great for Jason Koon. Early on his stack was cut into more than half but he has since bounced back a bit and just earned a small pot.

In a battle of the blinds, Koon limped in and called a raise to 24,000 by Artem Vezhenkov in the big blind. They checked all the way on a board of {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Koon won the pot with {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}.
