Ryan "TheSims" Hohner is the most recent winner of a partypoker US Network Online Series tournament, taking down Event #3: $5,000 GTD 6-Max R/A for the top prize of $2,074. Hohner outlasted a field of 96 entries at $20 apiece. Another 211 rebuys and 32 add-ons were also recorded, generating a total prize pool of $6,102 to exceed the guaranteed prize pool by more than 20%.

Hohner is no stranger to poker success, with over $654,000 in live tournament earnings. His largest cash came in his home state of New Jersey, when he took second place in the 2018 Borgata Winter Poker Open $600 Kick-Off Event for $245,967. He also cashed in that same event this past January, following it up with another in-the-money finish in the 2020 WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open $3,500 Main Event later in the month.

He was able to amass the chip lead as hand-for-hand play began with 11 players remaining, and further increased his lead by way of a knockout and numberous pots without showdown as bubble play went on for over 20 minutes. The chip lead remained his all the way until heads-up play began, when eventual runner-up "plumberboy699" entered the match with a slight advantage after eliminating "schaf4206" (4th place) and "bmweiser (3rd place) in quick succession.

However, Hohner quickly found pocket aces and was able to get stacks in on the turn with an eight-high board when "plumberboy699" had an eight. He found himself with more than a five-to-one chip advantage, and ended up with all the chips less than a level of play later, putting the final stamp on the tournament with trip threes to earn a payday of more than $2,000.

"plumberboy699" Picks Off the River Raise

"plumberboy699"
"plumberboy699"

In Level 30 with blinds of 30,000/60,000 and an ante of 7,500, "bmweiser" pumped it up to 210,000 in the cutoff and action folded around to "plumberboy699" in the big blind, who defended.

The flop came {3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and "plumberboy699" checked to "bmweiser," who made a continuation-bet of 240,000. "plumberboy699" called.

Both players checked the turn {8-Clubs} and the river came {3-Spades}. "plumberboy699" led out with a bet of 180,000 and saw "bmweiser" raise to 840,000. "plumberboy699" immediately called.

"bmweiser" showed {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for the busted two overcards, gutshot straight draw, and flush draw. Meanwhile, "plumberboy699" had {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for rivered trips and the pot was sent their way, increasing their stack to over 3 million after winning the hand.

"plumberboy699" Gets Help on the Runout

"plumberboy699"
"plumberboy699"

In Level 30 with blinds of 30,000/60,000 and an ante of 7,500, "schaf4206" opened to 120,000 in the cutoff and "plumberboy699" three-bet shoved for 730,000 on the button.

"bmweiser" came over the top, cold-four-bet shoving for 3.35 million and getting no further action.

"plumberboy699": {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
"bmweiser": {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

"plumberboy699" found themselves in trouble but the flop {5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} hit them with a pair of aces. The turn {a-Hearts} further improved them to trips, but they still needed to fade the two remaining queens in the deck on the river to stay alive. They did just that as it came {6-Diamonds} and the pot of 1.66 million was sent their way.
