partypoker US Network Series (Jan. 17-24)

Tuesday night brings Event #3 of the Partypoker US Network Online Series: $15k GTD 40-Stack NLH, featuring a start time of 8 p.m. ET, a buy-in of $215, and a new tournament structure.

The 40-Stack event gives players 40,000 to start and begins with the first 40 minutes consisting of blinds at 500/1,000/125 over the course of eight identical, five-minute levels. From there, levels increase to 8 minutes apiece for the duration of the tournament. Late registration is available with unlimited re-entries until the end of Level 18 at approximately 10:10 p.m. ET.

Registration is already open for everybody in the state of New Jersey across the three platforms of partypoker US, Borgata Poker and BetMGM Poker.

Blinds: 500/1,000/125

A trio of BorgataPoker.com sponsored pros in Daniel "leinad" Buzgon, Michael "Gags30" Gagliano, and Katie "KatieStone" Stone are only a few of the now 36-players that are registered in the field. Another early arrival is Yong "IReadYrSoul" Kwon, who finished in second place in Event #1.

With blinds of 500/1,000 and an ante of 125, Alex "JinYang" Butcher jammed for his last 9,800 under the gun and action folded around to Matt "gailums" Gailums, who was on the button and isolation-jammed for 80,000 to force both blinds out of the pot.

Butcher hit a jack on the river, but by that point only a ten could save him as the board ran out to give Gailums Broadway and earn him the pot and knockout. Butcher promptly re-entered, getting a fresh stack of 40,000 on a new table.

In Level 11 with blinds of 800/1,600 and an ante of 200, Jon "jetsfan411" Borenstein" got a starting stack in the middle preflop from the hijack against Katie "KatieStone" Stone, who was in the big blind.

Stone smashed the flop , pulling even further ahead and leaving Borenstein needing to hit running sevens to improve to quads if he wanted to double. The turn did bring that possibility, but the river quickly fell behind to complete the runout with Stone's set remaining best to earn her the pot and cause Borenstein to re-enter.

In Level 16 with blinds of 1,600/3,200 and an ante of 400, action folded to Yong "IReadYrSoul" Kwon in the hijack and he opened to 6,400. "EmeraldForest32" three-bet to 25,600 on the button and action folded back to Kwon, who thought for a bit before four-bet jamming for 79,000. "EmeraldForest" quickly called.

"EmeraldForest32" saw their ladies remain best as the board ran out and they took all of Kwon's chips as a result, though Kwon quickly re-entered and received a fresh 40,000 at a new table.

Level 19 has begun with blinds of 2,500/5,000 and the 18-level registration period has now closed, generating 127 entries for a total prize pool of $25,400. The top 20 places will make it into the money and earn at least a first-level payout of $363.

In Level 24 with blinds of 6,000/12,000 and an ante of 1,500, Matthew "Gailums" Gailums open-jammed for 175,000 in the hijack and "EmeraldForest32" called all in for 96,000 in the cutoff. All remaining players folded and hands were shown for the runout.

"EmeraldForest32" only found themselves in commanding shape for a quick second as the flop came to nearly quadruple the number of outs they had to sweat. The turn was just fine, but the river spelled doom as Gailums improved to the nut flush and eliminated "EmeraldForest32" on the direct bubble in 21st place.

In Level 29 with blinds of 14,000/28,000 and an ante of 3,500, "kgkg510" opened to 70,000 on the button and Orson "Borgatcha" Young three-bet shoved for 205,000 in the small blind. Daniel "centrfieldr23" Lupo came over the top, also jamming for 565,000 and "kgkg510" folded to send the two off to the races.

Young wound up on the right end of the coin flip as the board ran out for his pocket nines to remain best and secure the double at Lupo's expense.

However, Moments later, Young wound up in another huge pot with "kgkg510", where Young opened in the hijack and "kgkg510" defended their big blind. Bets went in as the board came , with Young ultimately jamming the river and getting a call.

Young's bluff was caught by top pair and he was eliminated in 10th place as a result. With nine now remaining, hand-for-hand play is again in effect as the tournament has reached the final table bubble.

In Level 30 with blinds of 16,000/32,000 and an ante of 4,000, Chris "rumpthumper" White jammed for 233,000 in the hijack and Matthew "gailums" Gailums re-jammed for 312,000 in the small blind, prompting a fold behind.

The board ran out and White earned the easy double, leaving Gailums with just 88,000.

On the following hand, Gailums jammed on the button and received action from Michael "UFOLDIWIN" St. John in the small blind.

Gailums picked up an open-ended straight draw on the flop but lost one of his live outs in the process. It all proved to be for naught, however, as the turn and river completed the runout to result in his elimination from the tournament in ninth place.

In Level 30 with blinds of 16,000/32,000 and an ante of 4,000, "l23weeeeeeeee" open-jammed for 10 big blinds on the button and received action from "kgkg510" in the small blind.
