Gailums Carves Up Butcher

Matthew Gailums (Credit Borgata / Tim Kelliher)
Matthew Gailums (Credit Borgata / Tim Kelliher)

With blinds of 500/1,000 and an ante of 125, Alex "JinYang" Butcher jammed for his last 9,800 under the gun and action folded around to Matt "gailums" Gailums, who was on the button and isolation-jammed for 80,000 to force both blinds out of the pot.

Alex "JinYang" Butcher: {j-Spades}{8-Spades}
Matthew "gailums" Gailums: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Butcher hit a jack on the river, but by that point only a ten could save him as the board ran out {5-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} to give Gailums Broadway and earn him the pot and knockout. Butcher promptly re-entered, getting a fresh stack of 40,000 on a new table.

Stone Makes Three Ladies

Katie Stone
Katie Stone

In Level 11 with blinds of 800/1,600 and an ante of 200, Jon "jetsfan411" Borenstein" got a starting stack in the middle preflop from the hijack against Katie "KatieStone" Stone, who was in the big blind.

Jon "jetsfan411" Borenstein: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Katie "KatieStone" Stone: [has qdqs]

Stone smashed the flop {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, pulling even further ahead and leaving Borenstein needing to hit running sevens to improve to quads if he wanted to double. The turn {7-Hearts} did bring that possibility, but the river {2-Hearts} quickly fell behind to complete the runout with Stone's set remaining best to earn her the pot and cause Borenstein to re-enter.

Kwon Sent To Re-Enter

Yong "YK" Kwon
Yong "YK" Kwon

In Level 16 with blinds of 1,600/3,200 and an ante of 400, action folded to Yong "IReadYrSoul" Kwon in the hijack and he opened to 6,400. "EmeraldForest32" three-bet to 25,600 on the button and action folded back to Kwon, who thought for a bit before four-bet jamming for 79,000. "EmeraldForest" quickly called.

Yong "IReadYrSoul" Kwon: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
"EmeraldForest32": {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}

"EmeraldForest32" saw their ladies remain best as the board ran out {6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and they took all of Kwon's chips as a result, though Kwon quickly re-entered and received a fresh 40,000 at a new table.

Kings Cracked Again To Burst The Bubble

"EmeraldForest32"
"EmeraldForest32"

In Level 24 with blinds of 6,000/12,000 and an ante of 1,500, Matthew "Gailums" Gailums open-jammed for 175,000 in the hijack and "EmeraldForest32" called all in for 96,000 in the cutoff. All remaining players folded and hands were shown for the runout.

"EmeraldForest32": {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Matthew "Gailums" Gailums: {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

"EmeraldForest32" only found themselves in commanding shape for a quick second as the flop {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} came to nearly quadruple the number of outs they had to sweat. The turn {9-Hearts} was just fine, but the river {5-Diamonds} spelled doom as Gailums improved to the nut flush and eliminated "EmeraldForest32" on the direct bubble in 21st place.

Young Gets a Big Double, Then Busts; Hand-for-Hand Begins

Orson Young
Orson Young

In Level 29 with blinds of 14,000/28,000 and an ante of 3,500, "kgkg510" opened to 70,000 on the button and Orson "Borgatcha" Young three-bet shoved for 205,000 in the small blind. Daniel "centrfieldr23" Lupo came over the top, also jamming for 565,000 and "kgkg510" folded to send the two off to the races.

Orson "Borgatcha" Young: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Daniel "centrfieldr23" Lupo: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Young wound up on the right end of the coin flip as the board ran out {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{k-Spades} for his pocket nines to remain best and secure the double at Lupo's expense.

However, Moments later, Young wound up in another huge pot with "kgkg510", where Young opened in the hijack and "kgkg510" defended their big blind. Bets went in as the board came {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{9-Spades}, with Young ultimately jamming the river and getting a call.

Orson "Borgatcha" Young: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}
"kgkg510": {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

Young's bluff was caught by top pair and he was eliminated in 10th place as a result. With nine now remaining, hand-for-hand play is again in effect as the tournament has reached the final table bubble.

In Level 30 with blinds of 16,000/32,000 and an ante of 4,000, Chris "rumpthumper" White jammed for 233,000 in the hijack and Matthew "gailums" Gailums re-jammed for 312,000 in the small blind, prompting a fold behind.

Chris "rumpthumper" White: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Matthew "Gailums" Gailums: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{8-Spades} and White earned the easy double, leaving Gailums with just 88,000.

On the following hand, Gailums jammed on the button and received action from Michael "UFOLDIWIN" St. John in the small blind.

Matthew "Gailums" Gailums: {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Michael "UFOLDIWIN" St. John: {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

Gailums picked up an open-ended straight draw on the flop {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{10-Clubs} but lost one of his live outs in the process. It all proved to be for naught, however, as the turn {2-Clubs} and river {3-Hearts} completed the runout to result in his elimination from the tournament in ninth place.

"l23weeeeeeeee" Eliminated in 8th Place ($787)

"l23weeeeeeeee"
"l23weeeeeeeee"

In Level 30 with blinds of 16,000/32,000 and an ante of 4,000, "l23weeeeeeeee" open-jammed for 10 big blinds on the button and received action from "kgkg510" in the small blind.

"l23weeeeeeeee": {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
"kgkg510": {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

"l23weeeeeeeee" needed to win the coin flip to stay alive and the flop {7-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{k-Hearts} was extremely promising, giving them top two pair. Unfortunately for them, the turn {3-Hearts} gave "kgkg510" a backdoor flush draw that would fill up on the river {j-Hearts} to regain the best hand and eliminate "l23weeeeeeeee" in eighth place.
